2 oz. Basil Hayden's bourbon
3/4 oz. Punt e Mes Italian vermouth
1/2 oz. Apricot liqueur
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 Luxardo cherry

Steps:

Stir over ice and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish: Luxardo cherry.

This is a comfort food that's very easy to throw together! Originally from a Southern Living magazine.

Number Of Ingredients 11

Ingredients

1 lb bulk sausage
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes
1 large onion, chopped
1 quart water
1/8 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 bay leaves
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup potato, peeled and diced

Steps:

Brown sausage and drain well.
Combine all ingredients in a 4 quart saucepan or Dutch oven.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Add potatoes and cook another 20 minutes.
Remove and discard bay leaves.
Beat soup with an electric mixer until all ingredients are well shredded, about 3 minutes.
Serve.

2 dashes Angostura bitters
3/4 ounce sweet vermouth, Punt e Mes preferred
1/4 ounce apricot liqueur, Orchard brand preferred
2 1/2 ounces rye whiskey, Bulleit preferred
Ice cubes
1 maraschino cherry, or more to your liking, Luxardo brand preferred

Steps:

In a mixing glass, add Angostura bitters, sweet vermouth, apricot liqueur, and rye whiskey. Fill with ice and stir, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
