TOLLHOUSE PIE
The original concept is from Nestle®, but this is my version of the Toll House® pie. The original version was dense and greasy; mine is more cake-like. I strongly recommend using miniature chocolate chips, as when I tried it with full-sized ones, they melted and sank to the bottom of the pie and formed a large mass.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Beat eggs in a mixing bowl until foamy. Add flour, white sugar, and brown sugar; beat into the eggs. Blend butter, milk, and vanilla extract into the egg mixture. Stir walnuts, coconut, and chocolate chips into the egg mixture; pour into the pie shell. Place pie onto a baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven until cooked through, about 1 hour.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy; add egg yolk; beat well.
- Beat in flour.
- Press evenly on to bottom of un-greased 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan.
- Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned and center is still slightly soft and sprinkle with morsels.
- Let stand for 3 minutes or until morsels are shiny; spread evenly.
- Sprinkle with toffee chips.
- Cool for 1 hour; cut into bars with sharp knife while slightly warm.

- Preheat oven to 375. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla and beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt, stir into butter mixture. Spoon by rounded tbsp. into paper baking cups in muffin tins. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Make topping by combining brown sugar, egg and salt. Beat until thick. stir in chocolate chips, walnuts and vanilla. Spoon 1 tbsp. of topping over each cupcake. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes.
TOLL HOUSE CAKE (LAYER CAKE OR BUNDT CAKE - YOU PICK)
You'll love this delicious chocolate chip cake from Toll House. It can be made as a layer cake or a Bundt cake. Both are great! I found it in an old Better Homes and Gardens recipe booklet from the late 70's. It is different from all the other recipes I've found. It's a yellow cake with chocolate chips and creamy, delicious, chocolate buttercream icing! Be sure to use the mini-morsels because the regular ones will sink down to the bottom. If you just need a rich, chocolatey buttercream frosting, I have also posted the frosting separately. It is recipe #384599.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease and flour two 8 or 9 inch pans or one 10 inch Bundt pan.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, soda and salt.
- In large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Alternately beat in flour mixture and milk.
- Stir in mini-morsels.
- Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake 35 minutes for layers or 45 minutes for Bundt cake.
- NOTE- DO NOT test for doneness by piercing cake because it may deflate if you do.
- Cool 15 minutes in pans.
- Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- FROSTING:.
- In small saucepan, melt butter.
- Stir in mini-morsels until melted.
- Add salt and vanilla.
- Gradually beat in confectioner's sugar and milk until creamy and fluffy. I beat this for at least 10 minutes. The longer you beat it, the better is tastes.
- Makes enough to fill and frost 2 layers (about 2 1/4 cups of frosting).

Steps:
- Prepare dough by mixing melted butter with brown sugar, then the white sugar, egg, egg yolk and vanilla.
- Stir in the soda mixture, flour and salt.
- Then add the chocolate chips.
- Chill batter for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Pack dough half way full in cups of miniature muffin pan.
- Bake 15 to 17 minutes.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan, then pop out.
