OVEN BAKED TUNA FISH ROLLS



Oven Baked Tuna Fish Rolls image

My mom made these for me while I was growing up. I still make them today - 45 years later! Easy to make and great tasting. You can use lowfat ingredients without changing the taste. You can also adjust ingredients to your liking. My wife adds chopped onions. This recipe is quite flexible.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (6 1/2 ounce) can tuna in water (drained)
1 large egg
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup fine dry breadcrumb
1 cup Bisquick baking mix
1 cup milk
0.5 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a bowl, mix the tuna, egg and celery completely.
  • Slowly add breadcrumbs to tuna mixture while stirring until mixture binds. Adjust amount of breadcrumbs as needed. Set aside.
  • In a second bowl stir Bisquick with fork until smooth. Slowly add milk until a dough forms that is suitable for rolling. You shouldn't need all the milk. Add more Bisquick if you need to adjust consistency.
  • Roll out dough until thin and cut into two squares. Place tuna mixture in the middle of each dough square. Leave enough dough to allow folding the corners over to seal top and edges. Tuna mixture should be completely sealed in the dough.
  • Place rolls on greased baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees until top of dough is golden brown, about 25-30 minute.
  • While rolls are baking, in a saucepan, heat up mushroom soup, adding water a little at a time until a nice consistency is reached for pouring over the finished rolls. Don't make it too thin.
  • When rolls finish baking, serve hot with mushroom sauce poured over the top. Enjoy.

My dad had this recipe from my grandma and the first time I had one I knew they were a keeper. A hot cheesy tuna sandwich, perfect anytime!

1 (6 ounce) can tuna, chunk light, in water, drained
1/4 cup Velveeta cheese, cubed
2 tablespoons green peppers, chopped
2 tablespoons onions, minced
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup Miracle Whip light
2 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Mix everything together, except buns, in a bowl.
  • Fill buns with mixture and wrap in aluminum foil.
  • Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.

This is not your usual Tuna Salad, My husband started me on this and it really is good. My father is extremely picky about his tuna salad but ate 3 sandwiches.

2 (8 ounce) cans tuna in water (Drained)
1 (6 ounce) package ramen noodles (Less the Seasoning)
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 medium jalapenos, finely chopped
salt and pepper
1 cup Fritos chili cheese corn chips (Crushed)
1/3 cup mayonnaise (Sounds alot but it really isn't)
3 tablespoons of the jalapeno juice

Steps:

  • In Sauce pan fix the noodles according to the package directions. DO NOT ADD THE SEASONING POUCH.
  • Crush the Fritos in a zip lock bag (Chili Cheese or BBQ Only).
  • Chop the Onion finely or to the thickness of your liking.
  • Chop the Jalopenos finely.
  • Open the tuna and drain and put in large mixing bowl.
  • Add Mayo, Onion, Jalopenos, Fritos, and the Jalopeno Juice.
  • When the Noodles are done add them.
  • Mix well and put on your favorite bread.
  • Enjoy.
  • For Diabetics: Use Nature's Own White Wheat Bread it only has 17g of Carbs for 2 slices of bread.

1 pound piece sashimi tuna
1 tablespoon wasabi paste
2 tablespoons coriander leaves
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
8 spring rolls wrappers
Oil for deep frying
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Steps:

  • To make the spring rolls, cut the tuna into pieces 2cm wide and 10cm long. Spread each piece of tuna very lightly with the wasabi paste and roll the tuna in the coriander and parsley. Wrap each piece of tuna in a spring roll wrapper, using a little water to seal the ends. Deep fry the spring rolls in hot roll wrapper, using a little water to seal the ends. Deep fry the spring rolls in hot oil for 30 to 45 seconds or until lightly golden. Drain on absorbent paper. Combine the lime juice and soy and place in small dipping bowls to serve with the tuna rolls and an Asian green salad.

When I made these for my kids. They thought their mom was a fancy cook. In those days I was no cook, but these are so easy and they are good. Save the crusts for crumbs or feed the birds.

1 (6 ounce) canned tuna
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
6 slices white bread
4 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 cup milk
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (8 ounce) can peas

Steps:

  • Mix drained tuna, mayo, Tabasco, lemon juice and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Trim crust from bread and roll each slice with a rolling pin.
  • Brush one side of bread with melted butter.
  • Turn over and spread each slice with tuna mixture.
  • Roll up and fasten with toothpicks.
  • Bake at 400° 15 minutes till brown and crispy.
  • Sauce: Heat soup and milk; add peas.

1 box kraft mac and cheese reg flavor cooked according to box directions
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
4 can(s) tuna- oil or water the way you like it
1/2 can(s) milk
1 pkg frozen peas
1/2 onion chopped
2 c cheddar cheese
2 c mozzarella cheese
option top with french fried onion rings for a lot more calories, i mean crunch.
option 1 red bell pepper chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375. Spray 13" x 9" pan with Pam cooking spray etc.
  • 2. Prepare Mac and Cheese and Frozen Peas according to package directions on each. In the meantime......
  • 3. In a large pan, add the Cream of muchroom soup and 1/2 can of milk heat until disolved.
  • 4. Add the 4 cans of drained Tuna and heat through. You can add the onion and red pepper if using that option.
  • 5. Add the prepared Mac and Cheese and Peas to the mixture and stir together.
  • 6. Put in the prepared 13 x 9 pan, top with 2 cups of mozzerella and 2 cups of cheddar. At this point you can top with French Fried Onions if you like.
  • 7. Put into oven and cook 30 min. The last 10 min of cooking time turn oven up to 400. It may take a few more minutes but watch not to burn cheese or onion if using them.
  • 8. This delight is done when the cheese is so ooeey and gooey it strings and wont stop. Cheese lover you know what I mean.
