This easy Homemade White Queso Dip Recipe is delicious and creamy! Made with American cheese you find at your deli, green chilies and more.

2 teaspoons butter
1/4 cup finely chopped white onions
1 pound White American cheese
4 ounces green chilies (1 can - do not drain)
4 ounces heavy cream

Steps:

  • Melt two teaspoons of butter in medium-sized frying pan. Add onions, cook until they become translucent.
  • Place the cheese and heavy cream together in a medium-sized pan and heat over low-medium heat until the cheese melts.
  • After the cheese has melted, add green chilis and onions and stir well.

This white cheese dip is a copycat recipe from your favorite Mexican restaurant. Only 4 ingredients and 5 minutes for an EASY and authentic queso blanco dip.

1 lb white American cheese (, cut into cubes)
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup water (, optional for a thinner dip)
4 oz can diced green chiles
2 pickled jalapenos (from a can or jar) (, chopped)
1 ounce pickled jalapeno juice (from the can or jar)
pinch of cumin ((optional))

Steps:

  • Combine the cheese cubes and milk (and optional water) into a large glass microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, stirring every minute. The mixture might seem watery during the first few stirs, but will come together as a nice runny dip after all the cheese is melted. Remove from the microwave and stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Serve immediately as a dip with tortilla chips or as a sauce over your favorite Mexican dish. If using for a party dip, keep warm in a small Crock Pot.
  • Combine all ingredients in a small Crock Pot. Set on low for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Once melted, reduce setting to warm.
  • Store any leftover cheese dip in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until creamy and hot.

This easy to make White Queso Dip is like the kind you can find in your favorite Mexican restaurant and it can be made as spicy or mild as you like.

1 tsp vegetable oil (omit if not using peppers)
2 jalapeno peppers (diced (omit for mild queso))
1 habanero pepper (minced (omit for medium or mild Queso))
12 oz evaporated milk
1 lb white American cheese (cut into small chunks)
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tomato (diced)
2-5 tbsp milk (if needed)

Steps:

  • Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • If you are using jalapeños and/or habaneros (otherwise skip to the next step): Add the oil and peppers. Sauté until the peppers begin to char.
  • Add the evaporated milk to the pan and whisk often until it begins to bubble. Add the cheese, cumin, chili powder and salt. Whisk together continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully melted together.
  • Add the diced tomato and stir it in. If you would like your Queso to be thinner, you can add milk a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

This creamy, cheesy white queso recipe brings that delicious restaurant appetizer straight to you in no time at all.

¾ cup half and half
8 ounces white American cheese (from the deli counter, sliced or shredded; approximately 2 ½ cups)
1-2 tablespoons pickled jalapeños (diced)
1-2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño juice (from jar of pickled jalapeños)
salt (to taste)

Steps:

  • Warm half and half in medium saucepan over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually add cheese in small increments, whisking well between addition, allowing cheese to melt almost completely before adding next handful.
  • When all cheese has been added and melted, whisk mixture vigorously over low heat. Add 1 tablespoon diced jalapeños, 1 tablespoon jalapeño juice, and 1 big pinch salt, then whisk until completely smooth.
  • Taste queso and add jalapeños and/or juice as needed for more tang and spice. Stir well and constantly to prevent queso from sticking or burning. Once desired taste has been achieved, transfer queso into bowl and serve hot.
