- If the chicken drumsticks are wet, place the legs on a plate and pat them dry with a paper towel. If they don't have too much excess moisture, there is no need to dry them first.
- Place the drumsticks in a medium-sized mixing bowl and add in the oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (optional). Toss until the chicken drumsticks are evenly coated in the oil and spices.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Once heated to temperature, place the chicken drumsticks in the air fryer tray. They should be in a single layer on the tray to make sure that they cook evenly and air fry to a nice crisp. If your air fryer is too small to accommodate this amount of drumsticks, cook them in two batches.
- Cook the chicken for a total of 20-22 minutes. Flip the drumsticks over after about 10 minutes. Since every air fryer is different (and the drumsticks might be slightly different sizes), your total cooking time may vary.
- Once the chicken drumsticks are cooked through and crispy on the outside, remove them from the tray. Serve them with a side like rice, fried potatoes, or French fries.

- Put chicken legs in a bowl, add buttermilk, and mix well.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Combine the spices and breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.
- Dip chicken pieces in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat at the air fryer at 400°F for 3 minutes.
- Lightly oil the air fryer basket.
- Put the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in the basket (don't overcrowd the basket)
- Use an oil mister or brush, to coat the chicken very lightly (all over) with olive oil.
- Cook the chicken for 25 minutes.
- Shake the basket halfway through. Apply some oil onto the chicken if necessary.
- Check for doneness and serve.

- Drizzle the chicken with the buttermilk. You can place the chicken in a bowl or in a Ziploc bag. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
- Add the panko breadcrumbs to a bowl with the chicken seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir.
- Dredge the buttermilk chicken in the panko breadcrumbs mixture. Spray both sides of the chicken with cooking oil.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes on 380 degrees.
- Open the air fryer and flip the chicken. Cook the chicken for an additional 10-14 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Use your judgment for how long the chicken should cook. I like to ensure my chicken has a crispy exterior, in addition to reaching the appropriate internal temperature.
- Tip: If you notice the chicken has formed a crunchy brown crust on the outside but needs more time to cook internally, lower the temperature on the air fryer to 350 degrees and continue cooking the chicken until it reaches the appropriate internal temperature.
- Cool before serving.

AIR FRYER BBQ CHICKEN LEGS
As chicken legs will vary in size and thickness, so will the cooking times. If you're cooking really large or thick drumsticks or thighs, add a few more minutes and pierce the chicken at it's thickest part to make sure the juices run clean. Use whatever BBQ sauce you love.

- In bowl combine oil, bbq sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Add chicken and stir to completely coat with in the marinade. Cover and marinate for about 20 minutes.

- Pat drumsticks with paper towel to remove some of the moisture.
- Lay out the drumsticks to season them. I use a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- sprinkle the seasonings all over the chicken, flipping and doing both sides.
- Rub the seasonings and baking powder very well into the chicken.
- Let the seasoning sit on the chicken for 10-20 minutes. This is so the baking powder can absorb some of the moisture on the chicken and will help get the outside super crispy.
- Pre-heat your air fryer. Best temp is 380-400 degrees.
- Once chicken is ready to go in, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly brush with oil.
- Arrange on a single layer as best you can. A slight overlap is ok. Lightly mist the chicken with cooking spray.
- Cook the chicken for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- When finished, the skin of the chicken should be very crispy.
- Serve when hot out of the air fryer.
