12 frozen dumplings
Oil spray, for coating

Steps:

  • Arrange the frozen dumplings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space in between.
  • Spray the dumplings generously with oil.
  • Air fry them at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes. Flip the dumplings over and spray them with oil if dry. Continue to air fry them for 2 to 6 minutes, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.
  • Let the dumplings cool for 2 minutes. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

I always thought apple dumplings would be some type of dumpling cooked in apple juice, turns out it is an apple cooked in pastry. Here is a recipe that worked for me.

2 tablespoons sultana raisins
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 sheets puff pastry
2 small apples, peeled and cored
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 320 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil.
  • Mix sultanas and brown sugar together in a bowl.
  • Place a puff pastry sheet on a clean work surface. Put an apple on the pastry and fill the core with the sultana mixture. Fold the pastry around the apple so that it is fully covered. Repeat with remaining pastry, apple, and filling.
  • Place dumplings into the prepared basket and brush with melted butter.
  • Set timer for 25 minutes; cook dumplings until golden brown and the apples are soft.

2 very small apples
2 tablespoons raisins or sultanas
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 sheets puff pastry
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F. Core and peel the apples. Mix the raisins or sultanas and the brown sugar together in a bowl. Put each apple on 1 of the puff pastry sheets then fill the core with the raisins or sultanas and sugar mixture. Fold the pastry around the apple so it is fully covered. Place the apple dumplings on a small sheet of foil, so if any juices escape they don't fall into the air fryer. Brush the dough with the melted butter. Place in your air fryer and set the timer for 25 minutes and bake the apple dumplings until golden brown and the apples are soft. Turn the apples over once during cooking so that they will cook evenly. Let cool for 10 minutes. Serve with ice cream if desired.

Cook at 375°F until lightly browned, 12 minutes, turning dumplings over halfway through cooking. Repeat with remaining dumplings, keeping cooked dumplings warm.
