This apple cider mule is festive and easy fall cocktail! This seasonal spin on the Moscow mule features cider and ginger beer.

2 ounces (1/4 cup) vodka
2 ounces (1/4 cup) apple cider
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh lime juice
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) ginger beer
For the garnish: lime wedge, thyme sprig or apple slice, sprinkle of cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a copper mug or glass, pour in the vodka, apple cider, and lime juice. Add the ginger beer.
  • Add ice and garnish with a lime wedge and a thyme sprig or apple slice. If desired, sprinkle with a tiny hint of cinnamon. Serve immediately.

Crushed ice
2 ounces vodka
3 ounces apple cider
1 to 3 ounces ginger beer, (depending on taste)
Apple slice, (for garnish)
Cinnamon stick, ( for garnish)

Steps:

  • Fill a copper mule mug all the way with crushed ice. If you don't have a copper mug, use an old-fashioned, lowball, or rocks glass.
  • Pour in vodka and apple cider.
  • Top with ginger beer, between 1 and 3 ounces depending on taste and desired strength.
  • Garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick and serve with a straw, if desired.

  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, measure out the water and sugar. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat.
  • Add in the cinnamon sticks, and cover for 30 minutes to three hours. (The longer the simple syrup infuses, the more cinnamon-y it will become. Proceed with caution.)
  • When the syrup has finished infusing (and tastes good to you!), strain and pour into a mason jar. Refrigerate until time to make cocktails.
  • In a copper mug (or your favorite glassware of choice—we aren’t picky here!), measure out the apple cider, ginger beer, vodka, lime juice and cinnamon simple syrup.
