1 wheel camembert
1/2 clove garlic, sliced thinly
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
2 tablespoons honey, plus extra for drizzling
2 figs
Crackers or bread, to serve

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF
  • Unwrap the camembert and remove the plastic packaging. Put the camembert back into its box.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the top of the camembert. Make 5 small incisions going both ways across the top of the camembert. You will be left with a pattern of small squares.
  • Poke the sliced garlic into the incisions you made in the top of the camembert, drizzle over the honey and scatter over the thyme leaves.
  • To prepare the figs, make two cuts in the top of each fig going lengthways and widthways.
  • Take care not to cut too far down or the figs will lose their shape during baking. Drizzle over a little honey.
  • Wrap the camembert in tin foil and place it into an ovenproof dish. Put the figs next to the camembert. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • Once baked, the cheese will be oozing and very runny. Unwrap it carefully and place the baked figs on top.
  • Serve immediately using crackers or fresh bread to dip into the camembert.
