Quick and easy cinnamon biscuits start with baking mix. Just four simple ingredients to this tasty breakfast.

Provided by Paula

Categories     breakfast or side

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cups baking mix (like Bisquick)
¾ to 1 cup whole milk (add ¾ mix and see if you need the rest.)
2 and ½ tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2-3 tablespoons whipping cream
1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F..
  • Add the biscuit mix, milk, sugar, and cinnamon to a large bowl. Mix everything together until combined. Don't over-mix.
  • Drop the biscuits onto a baking sheet or large skillet about 1 to 2 inches apart. (I had mine in the photos about ½-inch apart and they touched each other when baking. I prefer to have them not touch.)
  • Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits turn golden brown. The size of your biscuits will determine cooking time. I used a ¼ cup spring release scoop for my biscuits.
  • Whisk the sifted powdered sugar, whipping cream, and vanilla extract in a medium mixing bowl.
  • When the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the glaze over them while they're still hot. Serve warm and enjoy!

Cinnamon Swirl Raisin Biscuits image

Provided by Melissa Sperka

Categories     Bread     Breakfast     brunch

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 14

4 cups baking mix ([i.e. Bisquick])
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup cold butter (cubed plus additional for pan)
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup raisins
Cinnamon swirl:
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
4 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 Tbsp Bisquick
Glaze:
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter a metal non-stick 9 x 9 baking pan.
  • Cover raisins with boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes to soften, then drain.
  • Meanwhile, sift together dry ingredients in a medium size mixing bowl, using a whisk, Using a pastry blender or a food processor, cut in butter until it resembles peas. (Add to a mixing bowl, if using food processor.)
  • To the mix add buttermilk and raisins. Stir until fully combined. The dough will be sticky.
  • Turn dough out onto a lightly floured non stick surface. (Use baking mix)
  • Gently knead the dough coating with Bisquick just until not sticky.
  • Pat the dough into a round even height and width, then divide the dough in half, then into 4 equal pieces. [Tip: Use just enough dry biscuit mix and avoid incorporating too much or the biscuits will be dry]

CINNAMON RAISIN BISCUITS

Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits image

These are so easy and delicious! We like them as much as donuts and you can easily make them low calorie.

Provided by Lynne Lee

Categories     Other Breakfast

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/2 c baking mix (bisquick)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 c raisins
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp margarine - softened
2/3 c powered sugar
1 Tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Set oven to 450 degrees. Measure the baking mix into a large mixing bowl and add the sugar, cinnamon and stir together. Add the softened margarine and cut in with knives or a cutter. When mixed together add the vanilla to the milk and then pour into the baking mix and stir together until it forms a stiff dough. Turn this out onto a floured board and knead about 10 times until it has a good texture.
  • 2. Cut into biscuits and place on a greased baking sheet. I spray mine with a butter spray but you could also baste with melted butter or margarine. Then sprinkle the tops with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake these about 12 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Remove them from the pan and place on a plate and add your preferred topping. If you use the glaze, mix together the powered sugar, milk and vanilla. Microwave for 30 second intervals until smooth and creamy. I used cream cheese icing and thinned it with 2 tablespons of milk and heated for 30 seconds in the microwave. Enjoy!
