Homemade Cole Slaw Recipe | Easy Cole Slaw Dressing

- In a large bowl, combine cabbage and carrots. In a smaller bowl, make dressing by combining mayonnaise, vinegar, celery seed, sugar, salt and pepper. Toss dressing into cabbage mixture and let chill. Serve in a family style bowl.

- Combine the shredded cabbage and carrots in a large bowl. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, sugar, vinegar, mustard, celery salt, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl, and then add to the cabbage mixture. Mix well to combine and taste for seasoning; add more salt, pepper, or sugar if desired.
GRANDMOTHER'S COLESLAW
I had to estimate amounts, but this is the coleslaw that my Grandmother always made. It is a very simple recipe but is my favorite! I will admit that the carrots and celery seeds are my addition :-) but I hope that you enjoy this coleslaw as much as I do!

- Combine cabbage and carrots in medium-large bowl.
- Mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and celery seeds together until smooth.
- Pour dressing over cabbage and mix until cabbage is well coated.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Serve!

- With wire whisk, mix together 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon vinegar, dash of Tabasco, salt and pepper to taste. Set aside. Combine finely minced cabbage and 1 raw carrot with sauce. Refrigerate tightly covered several hours or overnight before serving.

- Directions:.
- Process water and cornstarch in a blender on high speed for 1 minute or until smooth. Transfer to a 2 1/2-quart saucepan.
- Cook mixture over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Add each of the remaining ingredients, stirring well after each addition. Cook, stirring, until mixture begins to thicken and become quite smooth.
- Let cool completely before pouring into a refrigerator container. Cap tightly. Keeps for about 6 weeks. Do not freeze.
- Creamy Italian Colonial: After preparing the previous recipe (let cool first), add 1 tablespoon pre pared mustard, 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, 1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Stir to combine well. Refrigerate. Do not freeze.
- Catalina Colonial: To prepared recipe, add 1 cup ketchup and 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish.
- Creamy Onion Dressing: To prepared recipe, stir in 1 carton (8 ounces) onion chip dip. Do not freeze.
- Slaw Dressing: To prepared recipe, stir in 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Use within 1 week. Do not freeze.
