Boston Terrier Hot Dogs Recipe - (4.1/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 white onion, diced
3 slices bacon, chopped
1 cup white beans, canned and ready to heat and eat
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
6 hot dogs
6 hot dog buns, I prefer potato buns

Steps:

  • Saute diced onion with chopped bacon until the onion is soft and bacon is cooked. Add white beans, ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard and cider vinegar; add hot dogs and simmer until thick. Serve on toasted buns.

I got this grownup hot dog recipe from a girl I attend church with. They were always gone in no time at family functions. You need to let them sit for a day or two to take on the flavor, and inexpensive hot dogs are key here.... they make a better product!

1 cup ketchup
1 cup bourbon
1 cup brown sugar
2 (16 ounce) packages hot dogs, sliced into bite-sized pieces

Steps:

  • Combine ketchup, bourbon, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes. Add hot dogs. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Let cool completely before refrigerating for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Reheat hot dogs by simmering in a pan over medium heat, about 5 minutes. Serve warm with toothpicks.
