BRONX BOMBER (SANDWICH)



Bronx Bomber (Sandwich) image

Depending upon how thin the slices of meat are and how thick you like your sandwich you can add more meat as you see fit.

3 slices rye bread
4 slices corned beef, deli sliced
4 slices roast beef, deli sliced
4 slices turkey breast, deli sliced
mayonnaise, to taste
mustard, to taste
lettuce leaf
2 cocktail onions
2 green olives

Steps:

  • Spread slices of bread with mustard and mayonnaise.
  • Cover bottom slice with lettuce and top with 2 slices of each meat in layers.
  • Add second slice of bread and top with remaining meat, more lettuc and third slice of bread.
  • Cut in half and spear an olive and cocktail onion with a toothpick and insert in one half and repeat with second half.

mayonnaise
mustard
Coleslaw
lettuce leaf, washed, and dried
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • spread slices of bread with mustard and mayo.
  • cover bottom slice of bread with lettuce leaves.
  • top with several slices of meat and season with salt and pepper.
  • add second slice of bread and finish building sandwich with remaining meat and third slice of bread.
  • Serve with coleslaw.

50ml dry gin
25ml sweet vermouth
25ml dry vermouth
25ml freshly squeezed orange juice
ice
strip of orange peel, to garnish (see tip below)

Steps:

  • Tip the gin, both vermouths, the orange juice and a large handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake hard until the outside of the shaker feels very cold, then double strain the drink into a coupe or martini glass.
  • Twist the strip of orange peel over the cocktail to express the oils, then drop it into the drink, or discard it if you prefer.

5 fresh jalapeno peppers
4 pounds ground beef
salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
¼ cup steak sauce, (e.g. Heinz 57)
¼ cup minced white onion
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco™)
1 pinch dried oregano
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
¼ cup crushed Fritos® corn chips
8 large potato hamburger buns
8 slices pepperjack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for high heat. When the grill is hot, roast the jalapeno peppers until blackened on all sides. Place in a plastic bag to sweat and loosen the blackened skin. Rub the skin off, then seed if desired, and chop.
  • In a large bowl, use your hands to mix together the chopped jalapenos, ground beef, salt, pepper, egg, steak sauce, onion, hot pepper sauce, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and Fritos®. Divide into 8 balls, and flatten into patties.
  • Grill patties for 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, or until well done. I always drink one beer, then flip, drink another beer, then remove from the grill and place on buns. Top each one with a slice of pepperjack cheese and pig out!
