Sour Cream Brownies- Thick, fudgy brownies made with creamy sour cream. Add a thick layer of chocolate frosting for the finishing touch.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, melted butter. Then, add in eggs, vanilla and both sugars. Whisk until combined.
- Add in flour and cocoa powder and mix until fully combined.
- Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 30-32 minutes or until they start to pull away from the edges of the pan. Let them cool completely before frosting.

- For Brownies: Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate in microwave; stirring at 30 second intervals. When completely melted, beat in eggs, one at a time. Next add dry ingredients and mix. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Bake in 350 oven for 20-25 minutes. Frost, if desired. For Frosting: Mix frosting ingredients in a bowl. Add green food coloring at Christmas, and St. Patrick's Day, red at Valentine's Day, etc. Frosting makes enough for 2-9x13 pans of brownies.

- Melt butter and chocolate in a bowl over hot water.
- Transfer mixture to large bowl, stir in sugar and essence then eggs, sifted flour and pecans.

- Grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside.
- In medium saucepan melt 1 cup butter over low heat. Cool slightly.
- Stir sugar and brown sugar into melted butter.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beat by hand until just combined.
- Stir in buttermilk and vanilla.
- Stir together flour and baking soda.
- Add flour mixture to to egg mixture and stir until just combined.
- Divide batter into two equal portions.
- Stir pecans into one portion and spread this part of batter into prepared pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Stir melted chocolate and cinnamon into remaining batter, blend well.
- Spread chocolate batter over partially baked brownies.
- Continue baking about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare frosting by beating sour cream, 1/4 cup butter, and vanilla in electric mixer on low speed until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, beat on low speed until smooth and spreadable.
- Frost cooled brownies and garnish with chocolate curls if prefer.

- Whisk 1 cup sugar and melted butter together in a bowl. Add vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, food coloring, vinegar, and eggs to sugar mixture, blending well after each addition.
