This recipe is a dish that my sister-n-law brought to a Christmas gathering. It was such at hit that she had to give us all the recipe!

1 small cabbage
1 medium onion
1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter, melted
salt
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
30 butter flavored crackers, crushed (Waverly Wafers)

Steps:

  • Coarsely chop cabbage in large casserole dish sprayed with PAM.
  • Sprinkle onion on top of cabbage.
  • Pour melted butter over cabbage.
  • Sprinkle with salt.
  • Mix Mayo and soup together and then spread over cabbage and onions.
  • For topping, mix together melted butter, crushed crackers and grated cheese.
  • Sprinkle over top of casserole.
  • Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until bubbly and brown.
  • Enjoy!

2 lbs. ground beef
Salt and pepper or creole seasoning
1 onion, chopped
1 cup rice uncooked
3 large handfuls of roughly chopped cabbage
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
2 cups of water
1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes undrained (or Rotel if you want a bit spicy)
1 cup shredded cheese (Colby Jack or your favorite)

Steps:

  • Ingredients 2 lbs. ground beef Salt and pepper or creole seasoning 1 onion, chopped 1 cup rice, uncooked 3 large handfuls of roughly chopped cabbage 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce 2 cups of water 1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained (or Rotel if you want a bit spicy) 1 cup shredded cheese (Colby Jack or your favorite) Direction 1. Season and brown ground beef and onions. Drain off grease. 2. Once onions are clear, add rice, cabbage, tomato sauce, 2 cups of water (or use tomato sauce can twice) and diced tomatoes. Stir. 3. Let it come to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low and cover to simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes or until rice is done and cabbage is soft. Do not lift lid before 20 minutes to make sure rice cooks well. 4. Once cooked, top with cheese and cover with lid to melt a few minutes.

1 small cabbage ( chopped).
Cream from chicken soup.
1 sweet onion.
1/2 stick melted butter.
1 cup of mayonnaise.
Some pepper and salt to taste.
1 stick of melted butter.
1 stalk of ritz crackers.
Cheese.

Steps:

  • Start the cooking process by preheating the oven up to 350 degrees.
  • Put the chopped cabbage in your casserole dish. You do not need to grease the pan before.
  • Place the coarsely chopped sweet onion on top of the cabbage. Put some pepper and salt on the cabbage and onions.
  • Mix the chicken soup, butter, mayonnaise together then place it on top of the cabbage and onions. Just spread the mixture lightly without mixing it.
  • In a separate bowl, mix all of the topping ingredients then sprinkle them on top of the casserole dish.
  • Cook this meal for around 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not remove from the oven until the top looks golden. The casserole should be bubbly too. Ensure you keep an eye on the oven so that you do not overcook the food.
