Treat the kids to a crunchy new snack combining Chocolate Chex® cereal, pretzels and popcorn neatly packed in a bar. Yum!

4 cups popped light butter-flavor microwave popcorn
4 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
1 cup pretzel sticks, coarsely broken
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Butter bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. Remove and discard unpopped kernels from popped popcorn. In large bowl, mix popcorn, cereal and pretzels; set aside.
  • In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave brown sugar, corn syrup and butter uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes or until boiling, stirring after 1 minute. Microwave 30 seconds longer; stir. Pour over cereal mixture in bowl, stirring until evenly coated. Press firmly in pan.
  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on High 30 seconds to 1 minute or until chips can be stirred smooth. Drizzle over bars. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows.

16 cups popped popcorn
1 cup roasted peanuts
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
¼ cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 teaspoon shortening

Steps:

  • Grease cookie sheets.
  • Place popcorn and peanuts in a paper bag. Set aside.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla and salt. Microwave 4 minutes, until bubbly. Stir in baking soda. Pour over popcorn mixture and shake bag to coat.
  • Roll down edges of bag and place bag in microwave. Heat for 2 minutes, shaking three times to mix. Spread mixture onto prepared sheets to cool.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate and shortening. Microwave 90 seconds, stirring once, until melted. Drizzle over popcorn mixture. Let cool before serving.

5 cups caramel corn
1 cup chopped pecans
1 package (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows, divided
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine caramel corn, pecans and 1 cup marshmallows. In a small heavy saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add chips and remaining marshmallows; cook and stir until smooth. , Pour over caramel corn mixture; toss to coat. With buttered hands, press into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan. Cool. Cut with a serrated knife.

5 quarts popped popcorn
1 ⅓ cups brown sugar
1 ½ cups butter, divided
2 ½ cups light corn syrup, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees (120 degrees C). Coat a large roasting pan with cooking spray. Place the popcorn in the roasting pan and keep warm in the oven.
  • In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, 1 cup butter and 1/2 cup corn syrup. Heat, without stirring, to 250 to 265 degrees F (121 to 129 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a rigid ball. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour syrup over popcorn and stir to coat. Return popcorn to oven.
  • In the same saucepan, combine chocolate chips with remaining 1/2 cup butter and 2 cups corn syrup. Cook, stirring, over medium heat, until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and quickly pour over popcorn, stirring to coat.
  • Return popcorn to oven for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and pour out onto waxed paper lined sheets to cool completely.

4 (1.5-ounce) chocolate covered wafer candy bars (recommended: Kit Kat)
15 individually wrapped caramels
1 teaspoon butter
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
3 teaspoons shortening, divided
3 cups caramel corn with peanuts (recommended: Cracker Jack)

Steps:

  • Unwrap candy bars and place face down on waxed or parchment paper; set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels with butter. Heat in microwave on HIGH heat for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until completely melted.
  • Combine white chocolate with 1 1/2 teaspoons shortening in a medium bowl and place over a pot of simmering water to form a double boiler. Repeat with chocolate chips and remaining shortening. Heat both chocolates until melted and smooth, making sure to stir frequently. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Drizzle half the melted caramel over the candy bars. Divide and mound caramel corn on top of each bar. Drizzle with half the melted milk chocolate and top with remaining caramel corn. Drizzle with remaining melted milk chocolate, white chocolate and remaining melted caramel. Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to set.

1 cup coarsely crushed peanut brittle (6 oz)
1 bag (14 oz) caramels
1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Butter bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. Remove and discard unpopped kernels from popped popcorn.
  • In large bowl, mix popcorn and peanut brittle. In 4-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave caramels and water uncovered on High 2 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
  • Pour over popcorn mixture; toss until evenly coated. Press in pan with buttered hands. Let stand about 30 minutes or until set. For 24 bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows with wet knife.

1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk, divided
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 package German chocolate cake mix (regular size)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with 1/4 cup milk; stir until smooth. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy. Beat in dry cake mix and remaining milk., Spread half of the dough into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes; sprinkle with chocolate chips. , Gently spread caramel mixture over chips. Drop remaining dough by tablespoonfuls over caramel layer. Return to the oven for 15 minutes.

1 (14 ounce) package Kraft caramels (about 48 caramels)
1/3 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup melted margarine
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (6 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat caramels and water over low heat, stirring often until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, margarine, baking soda and salt. Reserve 1 cup for the topping. Press remaining ingredients into a ungreased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Bake 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked layer, drizzle with caramel mixture.
  • Sprinkle remaining reserved mixture on top. Bake until lightly brown about 15 minutes.
  • Cool slightly; cut into 2x1-inch bars.
