QUICKER EASIER CARAMEL CRISPIX MIX

Steps:

• Combine cereal and peanuts in a large microwave-safe glass bowl, set aside
• In a large (it will bubble up!) sauce pan over medium heat, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring frequently. Boil for two minutes
• Remove saucepan from heat and stir in the baking soda. Pour caramel mix over cereal and peanuts, stirring to coat
• Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Remove and stir. Repeat two more times.
• Pour onto lightly greased baking sheets or strips of waxed paper
• Cool completely then break into pieces and serve. Store in an air-tight container

CARAMEL CRISPIX

Steps:

• 1. Put cereal; nuts and pretzels into large bowl.
• 2. Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and corn syrup.
• 3. Bring to a boil and let boil one minute.
• 4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla & baking soda. Stir well.
• 5. Pour over cereal mixture and stir until well coated.
• 6. Put on baking pan sprayed with Pam.
• 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
• 8. Cool on waxed paper, stirring frequently as it cools to break it apart.

CARAMEL CRISPIX® MIX

Steps:

• Bring butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup to a boil.
• Boil 2 minutes.
• Remove from heat and add baking soda (it will foam).
• Put the cereal in a large bowl and pour the boiled mixture over the cereal and stir to coat.
• Bake 1 hour at 200-250F degrees.
• Stir every 15 minutes.
• You may add nuts if you desire.

CARAMEL SNACK MIX

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Spray a large roasting pan with non-stick cooking spray.
• In a medium-size microwave safe bowl, mix butter, white corn syrup and brown sugar. Place the mixture in the microwave and cook 2 minutes, or until butter melts.
• Place the cereal, pecans and almonds into the prepared roasting pan. Pour the melted butter mixture over the cereal and nuts and mix gently until the cereal and nuts are coated.
• Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
• As the snack mix is cooling, be sure to continue to stir so that the mix will not harden in one big lump.

CHRISTMAS CRISPIX® MIX

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly butter a large roasting pan.
• Mix corn and rice cereal, pecans, and almonds together in the prepared roasting pan.
• Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Heat to 240 degrees F (115 degrees C) or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Remove saucepan from heat and stir vanilla extract into syrup.
• Drizzle syrup over cereal mixture and toss to coat.
• Bake cereal mixture in the preheated oven for 30 minutes; stir and continue baking for 30 minutes more. Spread cereal mixture in 1 layer onto 2 lightly buttered baking sheets, separating any large chunks with 2 forks; allow to cool.

• In a very large bowl, mix together cereal, pretzels, nuts, and sunflower seeds. Set aside. In a heavy, medium saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and syrup over medium heat. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Boil for one minute, stirring gently. Immediately pour hot caramel over cereal mixture and stir to coat evenly. Spread into 2 cookie sheets. Bake at 250 degrees for 10 minutes. Stir, and bake 10 more minutes. Cool and break apart, stir in dried cranberries.

• Bring to a boil the syrup, butter and brown sugar. Cool slightly. Mix the cereal and Pecan halves and divide into two 9 x 13 pans that have been sprayed with Pam. Divide the coating evenly and pour over the cereal/nut mixture in the 2 pans. Bake @ 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour onto wax paper and cool. • In a large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels and nuts. In a small saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Pour over cereal mixture; toss to coat. , Spread into 2 greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Stir; bake 6 minutes longer. Transfer to waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Cool completely. Store in airtight containers.

Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal and stir until well coated., Transfer to prepared pans. Bake, uncovered, at 200° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely. Break apart and store in airtight containers.
