celery, sliced into 1/4 pcs
can water chestnuts, sliced
can cream of chicken
jar pimento, sliced
bread crumbs
toasted almonds, sliced
butter

Steps:

  • Place the celery pieces in a 1-quart casserole dish.
  • Once the ingredients are combined, pour it over top of the celery.
  • Sprinkle with toasted almonds and bread crumbs.
  • Place the casserole in the oven to bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

4 cups celery, sliced in 1-inch pieces
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, chopped
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup pimiento, diced
1/2 cup soft breadcrumbs
1/4 cup almonds, sliced
3 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Bring a small amount of salted water to a boil.
  • Add your sliced celery.(I cut it on the bias)Cook for no more than 8 minutes. You want it to stay crunchy.
  • Drain and combine with the pimentos, soup, and water chestnuts.
  • Place in a sprayed 9x9 casserole.
  • Combine the breadcrumbs, almonds and melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake at 350F 20 minute until it bubbles.
  • PS: If you can buy PANKO(Asian Breadcrumbs), use those instead of the soft breadcrumbs.
  • The recipe is very old, and Pankowas not available.

1 can(s) water chestnuts, sliced and drained
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
- buttered bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Cook celery in 2 cups of salted water until tender, drain. Add water chestnuts and soup; mix well. Pour into well-greased casserole. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

I never liked raw celery, largely due to the strings! I do, however, enjoy the taste of celery in soups and things. This casserole Mom made is full of that softened celery flavor, combined with crunchy water chestnuts. It makes this a favorite, and very easy to make often.

2 tablespoon(s) butter
1 can(s) cream of chicken soup
10 ounce(s) can of water chestnuts
1/2 cup(s) breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Boil celery in small amount of water 8 minutes. Drain and mix in water chestnuts. Add soup, mix well. Put into a casserole, top with bread crumbs and butter. Add almonds. Bake at 350 degrees 35 minutes.

I save elegant dishes such as this for those more intimate indoor dinners. This delicious, unusual casserole is a light vegetable side dish that is especially pretty on a holiday table.

4-1/2 cups sliced celery
1 can (8 ounces) sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/4 cup diced pimientos
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
TOPPING:
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
4 teaspoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook celery in water for 5 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Add the water chestnuts, pimientos, almonds and soup. Pour into greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25 minutes or until crumbs are golden brown.
