CHERRY SMASH
This is a variation of a whiskey cocktail. It's a sipping drink and so good. Super swanky and very retro with a modern twist. It's my new favorite drink.

Steps:
- Place cherries in a low boy glass and splash with bitters. Muddle cherries until smashed to desired consistency.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice; pour in rye, vermouth, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Cover shaker, shake vigorously, and pour cocktail over cherries.

CHERRY CITRUS SMASH
Steps:
- Put the lemon wheels, orange wheels and stemmed maraschinos in a small pitcher and muddle with the back of a spoon. Add the lemonade and vodka, if using, and stir well.
- Fill 4 rocks glasses with crushed ice and then fill by two-thirds with the cocktail. Top off the glasses with ginger beer and garnish each with a maraschino.
WHIPPED FROZEN CHERRY LIMEADE
How can you possibly make whipped frozen limeade even more refreshing? Add tart cherry juice to the mix! This homemade slushie tastes like summer in a glass. Add a splash of half-and-half or your favorite nondairy creamer to give it a soft serve-style spin, or leave it plain to evoke an old-time cherry-lime rickey. And while bottled tart cherry juice is perfect for this drink, if you have fresh cherry juice from picking your own fruit, feel free to use it here! Either way, this homemade refresher will make your summer even sunnier.

Steps:
- Bring sugar and water to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat; cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Stir in lime zest and remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 1 hour, then strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve; discard the zest. (You'll have extra lime simple syrup; refrigerate for up to 1 week.)
- Add 1/2 cup of the simple syrup, lime juice, cherry juice, half-and-half (if using) and ice to a blender. Blend until the ice is crushed and the mixture is slushy. Divide among 4 8-ounce glasses and serve immediately.

- Combine cherries, kirsch, and sugar in medium bowl; stir to blend. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours, stirring occasionally. (Brandied cherries can be made 2 weeks ahead. Cover and chill.)
- Place 2 Martini glasses in freezer and chill at least 2 hours.
- Place 3 brandied cherries in each of 2 chilled glasses; crush cherries with back of spoon. Combine ice cubes, Cognac, orange curaçao, lemon juice, and cherry liqueur in cocktail shaker. Shake well, strain into Martini glasses with cherries, and serve.

- In a large saucepan over medium heat, stir together sugar, milk, marshmallows, butter, and salt. Simmer for about 5 minutes or until mixture reaches soft ball stage, 240 degrees F (115 degrees C). Turn off heat. Add cherry chips and vanilla; stir until melted.
- Pour mixture into a well-greased 9x13 inch pan, and let cool until firm.
- In a microwave, or in a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter. Pour over cherry mixture and spread evenly. Allow to cool completely before cutting.

Similar to a mojito, this can be made non-alcoholic if you like for a great summer bevy! NOTE: If your cherries aren't overly ripe, sweet and flavorful simply add a splash of Cherry Crystal Light (Kool-aid would be fine too) and it will be just perfect.
