Categories     Seafood Recipes

Time 12m

Number Of Ingredients 10

frozen flounder fillets - about 3 to 4 fillets
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. sea salt
1/4 tsp. herbs de Provence
pinch of cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. dried oregano
1 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
2 Tbsp. white wine
3 Tbps. lemon juice, plus extra

Steps:

  • First, thaw the frozen flounder fillets either on the counter or overnight in the fridge. Open the packages, and drain the excess water from their packaging. Give them a quick rinse under running water, and allow them to drain again.
  • Next, in a 10-inch non-stick skillet, heat olive oil and butter on low heat, until the butter melts.
  • When the butter is melted, add the fillets to the skillet. Sprinkle over them with some sea salt, herbs de Provence, oregano, and cayenne pepper.
  • Cook them on low heat for 30 seconds to one minute. They will start to release excess water, and that's fine.
  • Pour in the wine and lemon juice, and sprinkle over them with freshly chopped parsley. Then cover with a lid.
  • Simmer for 4 to 6 minutes or more, ( depending on how thick the fillets are) until the fish turns opaque-white-ish and the sauce is reduced a little. And the fish flakes off with a fork.
  • When the flounder fillets are fully cooked. Turn off the heat. Squeeze additional lemon juice over the fish (about 1 tablespoon, or more). Then serve.
  • Serves 2

PAN-SEARED BRANZINO

Pan-Seared Branzino image

This pan-seared branzino recipe is a speedy dinner for two that can be ready in about 10 minutes. It's a fancy dish you can serve for a romantic dinner without breaking your wallet.

Provided by Rika

Categories     Main Course

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 branzino fish fillets ((pat the fish dry with paper towels, let them come to room temperature))
sea salt and black pepper ((as needed))
1 tbsp canola, avocado, or olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 sprigs thyme leaves
½ tbsp fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • With your hand at least 12 inches away, lightly sprinkle salt and black pepper on both sides of fish fillets in a single layer, right before cooking.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking. Add oil and heat it for a few seconds until shimmers, and let it spread across the pan.
  • Cook fish fillets, skin-side up for about 45-60 seconds or until lightly golden browned. At this point, you only need to give the flesh a nice golden color as it will continue to cook after flipping.
  • Carefully flip the fish fillets and cook the skin for about 2 minutes. Using a spatula, hold for a few seconds to ensure even cooking and crisp skin all over.
  • Add butter, thyme, and fresh lemon juice to the pan. Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the fish with melted butter. Continue basting for a few seconds until the fish is fully cooked and the skin is crispy.

PRODUCT REVIEW: KIRKLAND FROZEN ATLANTIC ... - CRUISING COSTCO
2017-04-21 Although some types of food preparation don’t bother me, cleaning blood and veins from fish does. Fortunately, Costco (as is almost always does) comes to the rescue with their individually portioned frozen salmon fillets. These 6-8 oz. salmon portions come in a pack of 7 and, after defrosting them for 20 minutes, can be cooked in a pan, or even in the microwave. I tend to do the latter and ...

COSTCO HIGH LINER MISO GLAZED COD REVIEW - COSTCUISINE
2020-11-25 This can be found in the freezer section of Costco beside the other fish and fish sticks. The product number is 1338053. Taste. I actually really enjoyed the miso glazed cod! It’s very lightly soy flavored, it’s not overly salty and has the slightest hint of sweetness. The fish itself is light, flaky and moist. This miso glazed cod is extremely versatile!
