CRUNCHY HALLOWEEN MUMMIES

Crunchy Halloween Mummies image

Wrap up Halloween spirit with these crisp celery snacks, with deli ham slices doubling as edible mummy rags.

Provided by Betty Crocker Kitchens

Categories     Snack

Time 45m

Yield 20

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/3 cups garden vegetable cream cheese spread, softened
20 pieces (3 1/2 inches each) celery
3 slices (1 oz each) deli sliced cooked ham
10 sweetened dried cranberries

Steps:

  • Place cream cheese in resealable food-storage plastic bag. Cut 1/2 inch off 1 corner. Pipe about 1 tablespoon into each celery piece.
  • Cut ham slices lengthwise into 16 pieces. Cut pieces crosswise into 1 inch pieces. Place about 12 ham pieces over cream cheese to look like "bandages;" use tip of knife to tuck in ends of ham along celery edge.
  • Cut cranberries into 40 pieces. Place pieces between "bandages" for mummies' eyes.

HALLOWEEN OREO® MUMMIES

Halloween Oreo® Mummies image

Turn chocolate covered Oreo® cookies into these adorable little mummy cookies that are just spooky enough for Halloween without being too scary for little ones. They are great for a Halloween party, as school Halloween treats, or as a festive "spooky month" snack.

Provided by fabeveryday

Categories     Sandwich Cookies

Time 1h3m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 3

8 ounces white confectioners' coating, cut into pieces
16 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)
32 mini candy eyeballs

Steps:

  • Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each interval, 1 to 3 minutes. Scoop a heaping tablespoon into a resealable plastic bag and set aside.
  • Working 1 at a time, use a butter knife to spread the candy melt over the top and around the sides of each cookie. Place on wax paper.
  • Seal the resealable plastic bag and snip off 1 of the corners with scissors. Pipe stripes over the top of the cookies in a back-and-forth pattern. It's okay if the stripes are uneven or at different angles.
  • Before the stripes dry, stick two candy eyeballs on the top of each cookie.
  • Allow the candy coating to dry and harden before serving (you can expedite the hardening process by placing the wax paper and cookies into the refrigerator for a few minutes).

FREAKY MUMMIES IN A FLASH - HALLOWEEN TREATS!

Freaky Mummies in a Flash - Halloween Treats! image

I usually cook everything from scratch, but sometimes you're in a rush & don't have the time. These cupcakes are perfect for times like that....I have these on standby every Halloween for the trick-or-treaters! If you're not so pushed for time, make 36 of your own cupcakes or use a 22.5 ounce box of brownie mix.

Provided by Um Safia

Categories     Dessert

Time 35m

Yield 36 cupcakes

Number Of Ingredients 4

36 small cupcakes, vanilla (fairy cakes) or 36 small chocolate (fairy cakes)
1 (16 ounce) can vanilla frosting (or 2 cups buttercream, homemade frosting, icing etc)
green sour apple bubble gum tape (I use Kelloggs Fruit Winders Doubles)
72 M&M's

Steps:

  • (If using a boxed brownie mix -- Heat oven to 350°F Prepare brownie mix according to boxes directions. Divide batter among lined cupcake pans to make 36. Bake 20 minutes and let cool completely.
  • Spread frosting onto cupcakes. Place a piece of trimmed gum across center of cupcake. Top with M&M's for eyes. Place more pieces of gum at slight angles to cover tops, leaving eyes visible.
  • I like to use Fruit Winders / fruit leather in place of bubble gum & I also love piping frosting on the cupcakes. You can use a ready made frosting tube for piping, a piping bag or a small ziplock bag with a tiny bit snipped of one corner.
