This is a favorite over the holidays and I make it for all the parties we go to. It's easy to make and tastes great.

1 (250 g) package cream cheese (room temp)
1 teaspoon horseradish (optional)
1 -2 drop Worcestershire sauce
1 cup imitation crabmeat, shredded
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 (250 ml) jar chipotle chili sauce

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, crab meat and lemon juice together and form into a ball.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (can make day ahead).
  • Top with shrimp sauce.
  • Serve with crackers.

This is out of my "Company's coming, most loved appetizers" cookbook...This classic appetizer is a true favorite...make several days ahead. Double to make 1 larger ball or to make 2 - 1 or the freezer and 1 to chill for your party...serve with assorted crackers...cooking time cover chill time...

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces crabmeat, drained and cartilage removed, flaked
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 dash hot pepper sauce
1/3 cup seafood cocktail sauce
chopped fresh chives, for garnish

Steps:

  • Put first 5 ingredients into small bowl.
  • Beat until well combined.
  • Shape into ball.
  • Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
  • Just before serving, place on serving plate.
  • Pour cocktail sauce over crab ball.
  • Garnish with chives.
  • Add more cocktail sauce as needed.

Peppers and celery give this cheese ball a nice crunch. It's impressive enough to serve at a dinner party, or simple enough to enjoy on game day. Quick & easy this is guaranteed to be a hit!

1/4 c mayonnaise (may use reduced-fat)
1 dash(es) garlic salt, to taste
1 dash(es) ground black pepper, to taste
8 oz imitation crab meat (can use real crab)
1/2 c (2 oz) finely grated mozzarella cheese
2 Tbsp finely grated sweet red bell pepper
2 Tbsp finely chopped green onions
2 Tbsp finely chopped celery
2 pkg (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients; shape into one or two balls and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers.

Easy to prepare cheeseball. My husband does not like cheeseballs with green or red peppers but likes this because it has crabmeat in it. I think it has a great flavor and is a great appetizer for company.

1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 teaspoons chopped chives
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Using a collander covered with a paper towel inside, drain the crabmeat until nice and flaky and not moist.
  • 2. Blend cream cheese, chives, garlic powder and salt.
  • 3. Fold in the crabmeat and mix well.
  • 4. Shape mixture into a ball (or a log) and then roll in pecans until the outside is coated.
  • 5. Chill at least an hour. Serve with crackers.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese
1 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 can (6 ounces) lump crabmeat, drained or 6 ounces imitation crabmeat, chopped
3 tablespoons minced fresh chives
24 wonton wrappers
Cooking spray
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic and Worcestershire sauce until blended. Stir in crab. Shape mixture into a ball; coat with chives. Wrap in plastic; refrigerate at least 1 hour., Preheat oven to 350°. Cut wonton wrappers diagonally in half; arrange in a single layer on ungreased baking sheets. Spritz with cooking spray; sprinkle with sesame seeds, salt and pepper. Bake 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool. Serve with cheese ball.

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy, 3-4 minutes (or use the paddle attachment on your stand mixer).

  • To serve: Remove cheese ball from the refrigerator and smooth all around. Remove plastic wrap and place in the center of a serving platter. Serve chilled with crackers, toasted crostini or raw vegetables.
