Crack Sticks image

Crack Sticks are bread stuffed with a cream cheese filling and rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar before baking. Yum!

Yield 16 sticks

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 loaf Texas Toast
8 oz. cream cheese
3/4 cup confectionery sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash salt
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 cup butter

Steps:

  • Melt butter, set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Cut the crusts from the bread. With a rolling pin, flatten the bread.
  • Mix together the cream cheese, confectionery sugar, vanilla and salt.
  • Mix together cinnamon and sugar in a pie plate or something big enough you can roll the rolls in.
  • Spread about a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on the bread. Dip it in the butter and then in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 18 - 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Good either hot or cold.

1 (12 ounce) box Crispix cereal ((about 12 cups))
1 ½ cups chopped pecans ((6 ounces))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Line an extra large baking sheet (or two smaller baking sheets) with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  • Spread cereal and pecans on prepared baking sheets. Set aside.
  • Mix butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Boil for two minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour caramel mixture over cereal and nuts; toss to coat.
  • Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, and bake for an additional 8 minutes.
  • Allow to cool, breaking apart any large clumps with a wooden spoon or spatula.

16 slice white bread (crust removed)
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup butter (melted)

Steps:

  • In one bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy. In another, combine sugar and ground cinnamon. Pour melted butter into the third bowl.
  • Cut off the crusts from the bread, roll each slice with a rolling pin. Spread the cream cheese on the bread, roll it up, dip in butter, then in cinnamon sugar.
  • Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 350 degrees.
