Steps:
- Mix cranberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat on high until sugar dissolves.
- Pour contents of the pot into a pint jar. Add orange peel and pour vodka to within 1/2 inch of jar rim.
- Let sit one week before using.

HOMEMADE CRANBERRY LIQUEUR
This delicious treat can be enjoyed on its own (as a post-Thanksgiving sipper) or mixed with sparkling wine to create a cranberry cordial (a festive way to kick off the holidays). Either way, it's really easy to make! Will last up to 2 months.

- Pulse cranberries in a food processor just until roughly chopped; transfer to a clean glass container. Add vodka, simple syrup, lemon peel, orange peel, cinnamon stick, and allspice to cranberries; stir until well mixed. Seal container with a lid and store in a cool dark area, 3 to 5 days, stirring several times a day. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a glass bottle and refrigerate.

- Place all ingredients in a clean, sterilized mason jar.
- Store in a cool, dark place for 2 to 3 weeks, shaking or stirring at least once a week.
- Taste vodka.
- When desired flavour has been reached, strain vodka.
- Pour into clean, sterilized bottles.
- Seal, decorate and label with suggestions for use.
CRANBERRY-ORANGE VODKA

Steps:
- Place cranberries, sugar and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Place pan over medium heat and stir. Simmer cranberry mixture until the berries burst, about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Place orange peels in a large glass container with an airtight lid, or large mason jars with lids. Pour vodka over the orange peels.
- Allow the cranberry mixture to cool. Pour the cooled mixture into the glass container(s). Cover tightly and set aside for 1 week. After 1 week, strain out the cranberries sand orange peels and pour mixture into a clean bottle, using a funnel. Store vodka in the refrigerator.
- To serve: Pour 2 ounces of vodka mixture over ice in a tall glass and top with tonic water. Garnish with a slice of lime.

- In a large deep pan combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Bring to a boil.Continue gently boiling for about 6-8 minutes, or until the cranberries have popped open. Remove from the heat.
- Blend the cranberries with an immersion blender until smooth. Or place in a regular blender, being cautious as hot liquid will rise when blended.
- STRAIN #1 - Pour through a strainer into a bowl, pushing the mixture down with a rubber spatula. There will be cranberry skins left in the strainer. Discard the skins.
- STRAIN #2 - Pour the strained mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, or a strainer lined with cheesecloth, into a clean bowl. Again push the mixture down with a rubber spatula and discard the skins.
