SPOOKY HALLOWEEN EYEBALLS

Spooky Halloween Eyeballs image

These taste like Peanut Butter cups. They are fun to make and kids really get a kick out them. A bit time consuming, but the end-product is worth it.

Provided by Cara Lewis Hampton

Categories     Desserts     Chocolate Dessert Recipes     White Chocolate

Time 3h20m

Yield 30

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
½ cup butter, softened
2 ½ cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
12 ounces white chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons shortening
2 drops blue food coloring
½ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
2 drops red food coloring

Steps:

  • Beat the peanut butter and butter with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in the sugar and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll chilled dough into small, eyeball-sized balls and place on 2 baking sheets lined with wax paper. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes.
  • Melt the white chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each melting, for 1 to 3 minutes (depending on your microwave). Do not overheat or chocolate will scorch. Dip each eyeball into the white chocolate and transfer to the waxed paper until the chocolate has set. You can chill them in the refrigerator.
  • Stir a few drops of blue food coloring into the remaining melted white chocolate. Make a round "iris" on the top of the cooled eyeball and press a mini chocolate chip in the center for a "pupil." For an extra spooky bloodshot eyeballs take a toothpick dipped in red food coloring and make squiggly lines on the eye.

HALLOWEEN EYEBALL RECIPE: GIANT EDIBLE COW EYEBALLS

HALLOWEEN EYEBALL RECIPE: GIANT EDIBLE COW EYEBALLS image

Looking for the perfect Halloween eyeball recipe? This edible eyeball recipe is tasty and gross at the same time. The perfect spooky Halloween treat!

Provided by Marissa

Time 5h

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cans coconut milk, unsweetened
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp agar agar
red, blue, and green gel food coloring

Steps:

  • Place a pea-sized amount of each red, green, and blue food coloring in the bottom of a small, heat-safe mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Pour all the coconut milk and water in a medium saucepan (you want it to equal 4 cups, total). Add 2 tsp of agar agar and whisk until it is all incorporated into the coconut milk.
  • Place over medium-high heat and bring to a gentle boil, reducing heat once it boils to bring it to a simmer.
  • Add the 1/2 cup sugar and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. At this point, give the mixture a little taste and see if it is sweet enough for you. If not, add sugar by the tbsp until it is sweet enough, stir until dissolved, then remove from heat.
  • Remove 1/4 + 1/8 cup of the agar agar mixture and place into the bowl with the food coloring. Whisk until the mixture is black and place 1 tbsp each into the bottom of the six spherical molds (put them all on a cookie sheet for easy moving). Put all molds into the refrigerator to cool.
  • After about 15-30 minutes, check and see if the black mixture has set. If it has, begin adding the rest of the white agar agar/coconut mixture on top of the black mixture evenly across the rest of the six molds, leaving a small amount of space at the top. (Note that if the mixture in the pan has started to solidify, you can reheat to make liquid again).
  • Once all the molds have been filled, place the lids carefully on each mold and press down gently. Put back in the fridge.
  • Allow to chill several hours until eyeballs are fully set. Repeat with the remaining mixture for two more eyeballs if desired. Remove and serve as desired.

  • Bring water to a boil and pour into glass measuring cup. Let sit for one minute then add the green tea bag. Let steep 3 minutes. Remove the bag and add in the sugar, stir until dissolved then chill completely before using. This makes more than the drink calls for, store the remaining simply syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use it to sweeten other cocktails or even just a cup of green tea.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add in all the cocktail ingredients, shake well and divide between two martini glasses. Take a couple of the lychee fruits and put blueberries in them to make the “eyeballs” either sink a couple into the drinks or skewer and rest on top. Serve drinks chilled.

THE 15 HALLOWEEN JELLO SHOTS YOU'LL MAKE AGAIN EVERY YEAR

From wideopeneats.com

  • Floating Eyeball Shots. Talk about creepy! You can make this recipe kid-friendly by leaving out the booze, or make it an adult-only treat by adding a glug of your favorite alcohol.
  • Wormy Jell-O Shots. This recipe gives you a few different variations on this festive-looking shooter. Use coconut-flavored Malibu rum or raspberry vodka to create a variety of colors and flavors.
  • Pumpkin Pie Jell-O Shots. Looking for a way to use those leftover pumpkin guts? Look no further than this recipe! Turn your guts into pumpkin puree, then transform them into this festive-looking jello shot.
  • Black Magic Jello Shots. These dark magic Halloween Jello shots are definitely not for the kids! The creepy effect in this recipe is created by two layers of vodka-filled gelatin, topped off with some black sanding sugar.
  • Candy Corn Shooters. I'll have a bowl full of candy corn for the kids, and a tray of these for the adults. No one will feel left out! It takes a little bit of patience to let each layer set before adding the next color, but it's worth it when you have authentic-looking shooters.
  • Glowing Jell-O Shots. Did you know that tonic water glows under a blacklight? Make up a recipe of these Jell-O shooters that turn vodka-tonics into a glowing affair.
  • Vodka Tonic Jello Shots. This recipe uses the same idea as the last one (that tonic water glows under a blacklight), but they're extra creepy in their little bat shapes.
  • Zombie Brain Jell-O Shooters. These ghoulish shooters will have you shouting for "brains.... brains!" All you need to make this recipe is brain molds to make the creepy shooters, and some raspberry jam and food coloring to paint on the "blood."
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte Shooters. These may not be creepy, but they're a great way to get delicious flavor into a Halloween-themed shooter. Plus, this recipe is so delicious, it will probably change your PSL hating friends' minds about the Starbucks holiday favorite.
  • Creepy Peepers Jell-O Shots. Gummy eyeballs are popular during Halloween. This Jell-O shot recipe has you making your own! If you don't have the jelly bean mold, never fear, you can cut the shapes out by hand.
