Steps:
- Trim fat from meat.
- Cut meat into 4 serving-size pieces.
- In a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker place onion slices.
- Arrange mushrooms over onions; add beef.
- Stir together gravy and wine or apple juice.
- Pour over beef.
- Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.
- Excellent served with mashed potatoes and a salad.

- Place steak, onion, mushrooms, and chives in bottom of crock pot.
- Add pepper, garlic, Worcestershire, broth, and wine.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 - 6 hours.
- Approximately one-half hour prior to serving, thoroughly mix in flour.
- Serve over rice and top with parsley sprig.

- In a large microwavable bowl mix together the onion, mushrooms, oil, sugar, garlic, and thyme. Microwave for 5 minutes or until vegetables or softened.
- Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Place the onion mixture in the slow cooker and mix in the beef broth and soy sauce. Salt and pepper the steaks and work them into the onion mixture.
- Remove steaks and spoon off any excess fat from the gravy. Serve gravy over steaks and mashed potatoes.
