HOMEMADE DOG BIRTHDAY CAKE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch cake pan.
• Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
• Insert a toothpick/fork at the center of the cake and check if it comes clean. If so, the cake is cooked.
• Let the cake rest for five minutes and remove the cake to a wired rack. Let it cool.

DOGGIE BIRTHDAY CAKE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 6 cup ring mold.
• Combine the egg, peanut butter, oil, vanilla, and honey, if desired, in a large bowl; blend well. Stir in the carrots and mix thoroughly. Sift together the flour and baking soda and fold into the carrot mixture. Spoon cake batter into prepared pan.
• Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes; then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

DOGGIE PEANUT BUTTER CARROT CAKE

Steps:

• Mix flour and baking soda.
• Add remaining ingredients.
• Pour into greased 8" round cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
• Let cool.
• Frosting ideas: cream cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, Neufchatel cheese or cottage cheese. Stiffen icing with meringue powder, which is basically powdered egg whites.

PEANUT BUTTER AND CARROT DOG TREATS

Steps:

• Position racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
• Whisk grated carrot, peanut butter, applesauce, pumpkin puree, water, and eggs together in a large bowl until thoroughly combined. Stir in 2 1/2 cups flour and cinnamon with a sturdy spoon until incorporated. Add remaining flour, 2 tablespoons at a time, until dough holds together nicely.
• Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to an even 3/8-inch thickness. Cut with 3/4-inch cookie cutters and place on the prepared baking sheets about 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch apart.
• Bake 2 sheets in the preheated oven for 6 minutes. Switch racks and continue baking until edges are firm and golden brown (tops may still appear a bit puffy), another 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets for 3 to 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
• Repeat baking and cooling remaining dough.

DOGGIE CARROT CAKE

Steps:

• Combine flours, baking soda and peanut butter.
• Mix in egg, oil, vanilla, honey and carrots until well combined.
• Pour mixture into a 9x9-inch cake pan.
• Bake at 325°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
• Cool completely.
