These steaks are easy and appealing, and they have a spicy sauce that gives them nice zip.

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 beef cube steaks (5 ounces each)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, garlic salt and pepper. Add steaks, one at a time, and shake to coat. , In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, cook steaks in oil over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until no longer pink. Remove and keep warm. Stir in the remaining ingredients; heat through. Serve with steaks.

1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, briefly brown the cube steaks.
  • Arrange meat in a single layer in a 13x9 inch baking dish and pour the soup over the top. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

21 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup (2 10.5 ounce cans)
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix (use Recipe Secrets Onion or Beefy Onion flavor)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (to taste)
3/4 cup water (optional, for thinner gravy)
1 1/2 lbs cube steaks (4-6 cube steaks)
1 medium yellow onion (or white onion, sliced)
4-8 oz mushrooms (optional, sliced)

Steps:

  • Add the cans of cream of mushroom condensed soup, Lipton onion soup mix, and ground black pepper (plus water if desired) to your crock pot. Stir well to combine.
  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, 21 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 cup water
  • Put cube steaks on top of the 'gravy' mixture, adding one at a time. Add some of the sliced onions to each cube steak as you add them, in a shingle pattern, over the cream of mushroom base. If desired, top with sliced mushrooms (white mushrooms or cremini).
  • 1 1/2 lbs cube steaks, 1 medium yellow onion, and 4-8 oz mushroomsCook on high for 6 hours in your crock pot.
  • Serve over rice, potatoes, or pasta.

This recipe cooks up quick, it's easy and my family loved it so much there were no leftovers and they were asking when we would have it again. I make the meat and gravy in the crockpot. You could add potatoes if you were so inclined.

6 cube steaks or 6 minute steaks
1 tablespoon better than boullion beef base
mushroom (optional)
onion (optional)
browning sauce (optional)
2 cups water
3 tablespoons flour

Steps:

  • PLEASE DO NOT SALT THIS RECIPE! THERE IS ENOUGH SALT IN THE BETTER THAN BOULLION BEEF BASE THAT I DOUBT YOU WILL NEED IT!
  • Add your steak to your crockpot (I have an oval large crockpot).
  • Add 1 T. Better Than Boullion Beef Base to measuring cup with two cups of water and microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes, stir and add to the crockpot.
  • Add optional items to your preference.
  • Cook this on high for about 3 hours if you are in a hurry or about 4 hours on low. Circulate the meat at least once through the cooking process to make sure none of your meat is stuck together and all is cooking evenly.
  • Gravy:.
  • I use an old jelly jar with a lid but you can use whatever you have on hand even if you don't have a jar with a lid, just mix it with a spoon to make sure it is lump free ----.
  • Add about 3 T. flour to about a cup of water or so (I fill my jelly jar about 3/4 of the way up with water). You do not want to over dilute because this is your thickening agent for your gravy! Mix well or shake your jar to make sure all the flour is well mixed and no lumps. I add hot water because it seems to help it mix and minimize any lumps.
  • Add about half of your mixture to your liquid and gently stir. This will thicken fairly quickly. If it is not thick enough, continue adding small amounts of your remaining water/flour mix until you have the desired thickness.
  • Add a drop of browning sauce, stir and serve!
  • If your gravy is too thick add small amounts of water and stir to get it the right consistency. If it is runny, your thickener was too thin, make more thickener with less water than the first time and more flour, add in small increments until desired consistency.
  • I would not cook this cut of meat more than 4 hours in the crock or it will be falling apart and in pieces.

This meal is so super easy and so rewarding. I usually put it all together in the crock pot before I leave for work in the morning and, when I get home, it's ready to serve. Cooks up a delicious gravy and goes great with mashed potatoes!

  • Mix together cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup and water in bowl and pour over top of cubed steaks.
