I experimented with this until I found a quick, cheap, and easy Alfredo sauce combination -- the secret is cream cheese!

½ cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 cups milk
6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta to serve.

  • If you are making the alfredo sauce with pasta, you can go ahead and set your water to boil before you start. The sauce comes together quickly. (Don't forget to salt the pasta water!)

1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a sauté pan over medium heat, add butter. Once melted and bubbling, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Add parmesan cheese and stir until melted. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
  • *If serving with pasta, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining your cooked pasta. Then, stir the reserved water into your sauce when adding the pasta to make your sauce extra creamy and silky.

1 pint whipping cream
4 ounces cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon italian seasoning

Steps:

  • In a medium sauce pan, add butter, heavy whipping cream, and cream cheese.
  • Cook over medium heat and whisk until melted.
  • Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Continue to whisk until smooth.
  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until it starts to thicken.

1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1-1/4 cups shredded Asiago cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
3/4 cup grated Romano cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 package (12 ounces) uncooked gluten-free pasta

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, heat butter over medium heat. Add shallots; cook and stir until tender, 2-3 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Add cream; cook and stir until heated through. Stir in Asiago, 1/2 cup Parmesan, Romano cheese, salt and pepper; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 10 minutes, whisking occasionally., Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions. I had gotten a recipe on here that I had been using for years now but I've tweeked it to make it my own. My family and friends love it and thought I would share. It's the simple touches that make it all the better! Super easy and supper creamy!

1/2 cup butter (or margarine will work fine)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
16 ounces half-and-half (or you can use milk)
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/3 cup fancy shredded Italian cheese blend (Or you can use just shredded Parmesan)
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium sauce pan, melt butter.
  • Add in cream cheese.
  • Pour in about 8oz (half the jug) of half and half, whisking as you do until mixture combines smoothly.
  • Add in cheese, whisking uptil cheese has completely melted.
  • Add garlic powder and salt and pepper.
  • If sauce is too thick, add more half and half til it comes to a nice creamy texture.
  • Let simmer for 5 minutes.
