FRENCH TOAST RECIPE
Steps:
- Gather the ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 200 F.
- Beat the eggs thoroughly.
- Whisk in the sugar, half-and-half, and vanilla.
- Pour the egg mixture into a shallow glass dish. An inch deep should be fine.
- Heat your griddle to medium-low and melt the butter on it.
- Soak a couple of slices of bread (but only as many your griddle can accommodate at once) in the eggs while you count to 10. Flip them over and repeat.
- Carefully remove the soaked slices from the eggs, letting the excess liquid drain back into the dish, and transfer the bread to the griddle.
- Flip when the bottoms are golden brown .
- When the other sides are also golden brown, remove from the griddle and place on a foil-lined baking sheet and place in your preheated oven to keep warm while you cook the remaining French toast.
- Serve French toast right away and enjoy.

KERRY'S FRENCH TOAST
A French toast sandwich with a cream cheese and brown sugar center. My family loves this, and it can be cut into wedges and served at brunch. Can be served with syrup or jam, or eaten without either. Dust with powdered sugar for prettier presentation!

FAMOUS BREAD FRENCH TOAST
This recipe is from Margaret Rudkin, better known as the founder of the Pepperidge Farm Company. Her cookbook is long out of print but contains such a treasury of delicious recipes that I would encourage anyone who collects cookbooks to try to find a copy for themselves. This makes for a decadent Sunday morning breakfast.

FRENCH TOAST FOR FIRM EUROPEAN-STYLE BREAD
Steps:
- 1. Heat 10- to 12-inch skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium heat for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, beat egg lightly in shallow pan or pie plate; whisk in milk and vanilla, and then sugar, flour, and salt, continuing to whisk until smooth. Soak bread without oversaturating, about 20 seconds per side. Pick up bread and allow excess batter to drip off; repeat with remaining slices. 2. Swirl 1 Tbsp butter in hot skillet. Transfer prepared bread to skillet; cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes on first side and 1 minute and 15 seconds on the second. Serve immediately. Continue, adding 1 Tbsp butter to skillet for each new batch.
THE BEST FRENCH TOAST
There's no question that this is the best French toast recipe. The caramelized exterior meets a soft, custardlike center that practically melts in your mouth. Not only that, but it's quick and easy, too! -Audrey Rompon, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
