SLOW COOKER PORK CHOPS AND ONIONS



Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Onions image

Tender pork slow cooked in a tangy sauce with plenty of onions.

2 lb. boneless pork chops ((about 4-5 chops))
cooking oil
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 large sweet yellow onion (sliced)
1/3 cup salted butter (sliced)

Steps:

  • Start by setting a skillet on the stove top over medium high heat. When the pan is hot just enough cooking oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Brown the pork chops on both sides, don't worry about cooking through the slow cooker will do that. Set aside for now.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder and red pepper flakes in to the slow cooker, stir together with something that won't scratch your slow cooker.
  • Add the browned pork chops, then add the onions and butter slices.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) package onion soup mix
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ cup water
1 onion, sliced
1 (12 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
4 potatoes, halved
4 pork chops

Steps:

  • Mix together cream of mushroom soup, golden mushroom soup, onion soup mix, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and water in a slow cooker.
  • Stir in onion, mushrooms, and potatoes.
  • Place pork chops in the mushroom mixture, turning to coat both sides.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours.
  • Spoon the mushroom sauce over the pork chops and potatoes for serving.

5-6 boneless pork chops
2 10.5 ounce cans Golden Mushroom Soup
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 onion (chopped)
3 Tablespoons butter
1 8 oz package sliced fresh mushrooms
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
Season salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Lightly spray a casserole crock pot or 6 quart crock pot with cooking spray.
  • Place pork chops in the slow cooker.
  • Top with remaining ingredients and cook on low for 3.5 - 4 hours or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
  • Remove pork chops or move to the side of the crock pot and add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch into the liquid mixture and stir until blended.
  • Serve gravy over pork chops

I raided the pantry for something to make quick and easy...and I came up with this. It has sour cream and onion soup mix which is why I call it onion dip pork chops. It was a huge hit.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 boneless pork chops
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion soup
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 lb cooked pasta (I prefer rotini or fettucini)

Steps:

  • Cook pasta to directions on box.
  • Brown Pork Chops on both sides in oil.
  • Add garlic powder, onion soup, soup, sour cream.
  • Add a little water if necessary if the sauce is too thick.
  • Cook until pork chops cooked through.
  • Place on top of pasta.
  • I serve with steamed broccoli as well.

This is a magic meal, the end product looks nothing like the starting ingredients. Trust me, DO NOT add water to this. The result will be tender melt in your mouth pork in a golden gravy, so tender that you will not need a fork! It's beyond simple to put together but yet nice enough to serve for company. I serve with mashed potatoes. You can make easily increase the servings by repeating the layers in the crock, you just may need to increase the cooking time. Same goes for a thicker chop.
