I posted this so I can remember how Papaw (my dad) "dresses up" canned green beans, so I can make them "for a crowd".

1 (104 ounce) can allens Italian cut green beans
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup oil
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Steps:

  • Dump all ingredients into a 4 quart pot.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn heat to medium & boil for 1 hour.
