1 (2 lb) flank steaks
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 teaspoons asian chili oil
salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Combine the marinade ingredients in shallow bowl. Add the flank steak; coat well.
  • Marinate, covered, for 8 hours or overnight in the refrigerator, turning once or twice.
  • Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before grilling. (Be sure to scrape any ginger or garlic bits off the steak.).
  • Cook over high heat on a well oiled grill, 3 inches from the heat source, for 4 minutes per side for medium-rare meat.
  • Remove to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the steak thinly on the diagonal and arrange on a platter.
  • Sprinkle with the chopped parsley and serve.

1 large red onion, sliced
1 cup minced fresh cilantro
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup Key lime juice
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
6 Key limes, halved
1 beef flank steak (1 pound)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine onion, cilantro, vinegar, lime juice and 2 tablespoons oil until blended. Pour 1 cup marinade into a large bowl or shallow dish. Add lime halves. Rub steak with remaining oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add to bowl; turn to coat. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade., Drain steak, discarding marinade and limes in bowl. Place reserved marinade in a food processor; process until chopped. , Grill steak, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°), 6-8 minutes per side. Baste occasionally with reserved marinade. Let stand 10 minutes before thinly slicing steak across the grain.

1 medium clove garlic
Fresh or frozen ginger to yield 1 tablespoon coarsely grated
2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 1/2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
8 ounces flank steak

Steps:

  • Preheat the broiler if using, and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  • Mince garlic; grate ginger, and combine with soy, maple syrup and vinegar in a large bowl.
  • Wash the flank steak, dry and cut into strips half an inch wide on the diagonal. Add to the marinade, turn to coat and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare stove-top grill if using. Grill or broil the meat about five minutes total, turning once and brushing with marinade.

1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 -1 1/4 lb beef flank steak
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine all ingredients except steak and oil. Rub spice mixture on both sides of steak. If you like, place steak on plate; let stand at room temperature 15 minutes Meanwhile, in nonstick 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add steak to skillet and cook 14-16 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness, turning steak over once.
  • Transfer steak to cutting board.
  • To serve, thinly slice steak diagonally against the grain.

½ cup vegetable oil
½ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 (2.5 pound) flank steak

Steps:

  • Combine oil, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix until combined.
  • Cut shallow slashes in a crosshatch pattern on both sides of the steak, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  • Place steak in a low, flat dish and pour marinade on top, covering meat completely. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, or overnight, turning steak over once.
  • Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Remove steak from the marinade and place on a baking pan. Reserve marinade.
  • Broil, brushing occasionally with marinade, until browned and heated through, about 5 minutes per side. Remove steak to a platter and cover loosely with foil. Let rest for at least 5 minutes. Slice into 1- to 2-inch strips across the grain.

2 pounds flank steak
2 tablespoons flat leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Combine the marinade ingredients in shallow bowl. Add the flank steak, coating well, covering and marinating for 8 hrs. or overnight, in the refrigerator, turning once or twice.
  • Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling (be sure to scrape any ginger or garlic bits off the steak).
  • Cook over high heat on a well oiled grill 3 inches from the heat source, for 4 minutes per side for medium-rare meat. Remove to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
