TOASTED ALMOND CRAB DIP

I got the recipe for this super spread from my sister-in-law years ago, and it's always popular at social gatherings. It's so easy to make, yet it looks and tastes fancy.-Sonja Blow, Nixa, Missouri

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1/3 cup sour cream
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 can (6 ounces) crabmeat, drained, flaked and cartilage removed or 1/2 cup imitation crabmeat, chopped
3 tablespoons finely chopped green onions, divided
1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Stir in crab and 2 tablespoons onions. Spread into an ungreased 9-in. pie plate. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with almonds and remaining onions. Serve with crackers.

4 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (6 ounce) cans crabmeat
1 ½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
paprika, for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Cheddar cheese, crabmeat, lemon juice, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Transfer to a shallow 9x13 inch baking dish. Garnish with paprika.
  • Bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

Steps:

  • Mix together all ingredients (except Almonds) with fork.
  • Place in an uncovered casserole dish and bake at 350 until bubbly, 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Sliced Almonds may be sprinkled on top before baking.
  • Serve with crackers.

1 pinch ground black pepper
1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
⅓ cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, milk, onion, horseradish, salt, pepper and crabmeat. Spread the mixture into a pie pan or shallow baking dish. Sprinkle almonds over the crabmeat mixture
  • Bake in the preheated oven 45 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly browned.
