Make these super-easy jam turnovers from simple squares of shop-bought puff pastry and your favourite jam. Dust with icing sugar and serve with clotted cream

320g sheet puff pastry
1 heaped tbsp jam (apricot, raspberry or strawberry work well)
1 beaten egg
icing sugar , for dusting
clotted cream , to serve

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Unravel the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into six squares. Spoon the jam in the centre of each pastry square. Seal the edges by pressing down with a fork and brush with the egg. Lay on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 mins. Dust with the icing sugar and serve with the clotted cream.

These Strawberry Cream Cheese Turnovers are so easy to make and full of amazing fresh flavor.

16 ounces crescent dough sheets (2 (8 ounce) packages, 12 crescents total)
1½ cups fresh strawberries (chopped)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
8 ounces cream cheese softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons heavy cream
⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water.
  • Bring strawberry mixture to a boil and continue cooking for 6-8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together remaining water and cornstarch. Slowly add mixture to saucepan, and reduce heat to low. Simmer until strawberry mixture has thickened (about 2-3 minutes)
  • Remove from heat, and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese filling ingredients with hand mixer until combined.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • On a greased baking sheet, roll out each crescent roll.
  • Top dough with 1 Tablespoon cream cheese filling, and 1 Tablespoon strawberry filling.
  • Fold dough over into triangle, and press edges together tightly.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • For the frosting, whisk together frosting ingredients, and drizzle over semi-cooled pastries. Enjoy!

1 puff pastry, thawed
flour, to dust
¼ cup cream cheese
⅔ cup chocolate hazelnut spread
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
powdered sugar, to taste
1 cup chocolate sauce, or melted nutella, to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese and Nutella. Set aside.
  • Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Divide into 9 equal squares.
  • Scoop 1 Tbsp. of Nutella filling onto the corner of each puff pastry square. Leave enough space for the edges to be crimped shut. Fold the square to form a triangle, crimp the edges shut.
  • Set the turnovers on a lightly greased cookie pan.
  • Prepare the egg wash by beating together one egg and 1 Tbsp. water. Brush the top of each turnover with the egg wash.
  • Bake for 350˚F (175˚C ) for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool.
  • Garnish by dusting powdered sugar and drizzling with melted Nutella or chocolate syrup.

3/4 cup cream cheese
3/4 cup jam (apricot,cherry,orange marmalade,any!)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon water
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, to sprinkle

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • On lightly floured surface, roll out each sheet of pastry into a 12-inch square.
  • Cut each into four 6-inch squares; place 1 1/2 tbsp cream cheese in center of each square, then place 1 1/2 tbsp of jam.
  • Brush edges of each square with water. Fold the squares in half diagonally to form triangles, pressing edges together firmly. Press edges with tines of a fork to seal well.
  • Arrange turnovers on a dampened baking sheet; brush with egg wash.
  • With sharp knife, cut several slits in the top of each turnover.
  • Sprinkle with the sugar, bake them in the upper third for 12-15 minutes or until puffed& golden.
  • Serve warm!

2 sheets (about 1 pound) frozen puff pastry, thawed
3/4 cup (about 6 ounces) cream cheese
3/4 cup jam, such as apricot or cherry, or orange marmalade
an egg wash made by beating together 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon water
about 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar for sprinkling the turnovers

Steps:

  • On a lightly floured surface roll out each sheet of pastry into a 12-inch square and cut each square into four 6-inch squares. Put 1 1/2 tablespoons of the cream cheese in the center of each square, top it with 1 1/2 tablespoons of jam, and brush the edges of each square with water. Fold the squares in half diagonally to form triangles, pressing the edges together firmly, and press the edges with the tines of a fork to seal them well. Arrange the turnovers on a dampened baking sheet, brush them with the egg wash, and with a sharp knife cut several slits (for steam vents) in the top of each turnover. Sprinkle the turnovers with the sugar, bake them in the upper third of a preheated 425°F. oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden, and serve them warm.

Quick and simple, perfect for a brunch or morning tea. This is a variation of a recipe that appeared in Sunday Life magazine, in Sydney's Sun Herald, a few years ago. The original used blackbery jam, I prefer strawberry - you could probably use any flavour you like.

1 sheet puff pastry
4 tablespoons jam
4 tablespoons cream cheese
icing sugar, to serve

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 220°C.
  • Cut pastry into 4 squares and place on a baking sheet lined with non-stick baking paper.
  • Place a quarter of jam and quarter of cream cheese into centre of each piece of pastry. Don't overfill or it will leak out during cooking.
  • Carefully bring the four points together to form a parcel and twist - don't worry too much about small gaps.
  • Bake for approx 20 mins or until golden.
  • When cool dust with icing sugar.
