CRAZY EASY QUICKBREAD



Crazy Easy Quickbread image

2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 can or bottle (12 ounces) warm beer
1 heaping tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
3/4 cup grated Parmesan
Salted butter, for serving and for greasing the loaf pan
Salted butter, for serving and for greasing the loaf pan

Steps:

  • Special equipment: one 8 1/2-by-4 1/2-by-2 1/2-inch glass loaf pan
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F; generously grease the loaf pan with butter.
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, beer, rosemary and Parmesan in a large bowl until evenly incorporated yet slightly lumpy. Transfer to the prepared loaf pan. Bake until golden and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, 45 minutes. Unmold onto a rack and let cool. Cut into 1-inch slices and serve with butter.

2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 pinches white sugar
½ cup warm water
6 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 cups hot water
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon butter, melted
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
½ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Dissolve yeast and 2 pinches white sugar in warm water in a bowl. Let stand until the yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix 4 cups flour, hot water, 3 tablespoons sugar, and salt together in a large mixing bowl; pour yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix. Add remaining flour, one cup at a time, mixing well between additions. Continue to work the mixture until you have a dough; divide dough into 2 halves. Divide each half into 12 long bread sticks and arrange onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Pour melted butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese and garlic powder over the breadsticks.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 13 minutes.

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups cold water

Steps:

  • Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, and cocoa together into a 9 x 13 inch ungreased cake pan. Make three wells. Pour oil into one well, vinegar into second, and vanilla into third well. Pour cold water over all, and stir well with fork.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 quarts popped corn
1 1/3 cups pecans, almonds or 1 1/3 cups walnuts
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup clear corn syrup

Steps:

  • Mix popped corn and nuts of choice in a large bowl.
  • Combine sugar, butter, and syrup in a 2 quart sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally 10 to 15 minutes or until mixture turns a light caramel color (soft ball stage).
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  • Pour over popped corn and nuts. Mix to coat well.
  • Spread out on a buttered cookie sheet to dry, then break apart into small bite size pieces and enjoy!
  • Makes about 2 pounds.

1 cup cold strong coffee
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, salt and cinnamon. Set aside.2. Measure KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and coffee into ungreased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan. Stir to combine. Let stand about 2 minutes or until cereal softens. Stir in oil, vinegar and vanilla. Add flour mixture, stirring until smooth.3. Bake at 350°F about 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely. Cut into squares and serve with whipped topping, if desired. NOTE: 1 cup KELLOGG'S COMPLETE Oat Bran Flakes cereal may be substituted for the KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Use pat of butter to grease a 9" x 9" square baking dish.
  • Mix the sugar, milk, flour, egg, baking soda, vanilla extract, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, sunflower kernels, pumpkin, cranberries, and vanilla chips together in a bowl.
  • Pour mixture into greased baking dish.
  • Gently sprinkle sprinkles on top of dough mixture.
  • Bake quick bread for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Enjoy!
