bread (warburtons seeded batch preferably)
butter
bay leaf (optional)

Steps:

  • put bread in toaster
  • get out butter and marmite
  • get toast out of toaster when done
  • spread butter on toast
  • spread marmite on toast
  • serve with bay leaf (optional)
  • eat it

Okay, maybe calling it a recipe is stretching it a bit far, but it is a British breakfast classic, and if you LOVE marmite, you will love marmite on hot buttered toast! Use a nice nutty, granary bread and a cheeky little butter for the prefect Marmite in Toast extravaganza! Make a perfect pot of tea, Recipe #263420, for the perfect accompaniment and away you go, you'll be saying "Cor blimey Guv'ner" in no time!

2 slices granary bread or 2 slices bread, of your choice
fresh unsalted butter
marmite, to taste

Steps:

  • Toast the bread slices to desired colour, I like mine well toasted.
  • Butter whilst still hot, making sure it all melts into the toasted bread.
  • Spread with marmite to taste, cut into triangles or fingers and enjoy with a cuppa tea!

A fave of mine whilst growing up, its a real comfort to me and the Marmite (vegemite can be used instead) cuts through the rich creaminess of the egg and gives it a good salty kick!

marmite or vegemite
2 slices bread
1/4 cup butter
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • This can be prepared in one of three ways:.
  • Poach, scramble or soft boil your eggs according to how you prefer them to be made.
  • Toast the bread and butter it.
  • Spread with as much marmite as you like.
  • Top with the eggs if poached or scrambled.
  • If you have boiled your egges, cut up the toast into "soilders" and get dunking!
