Mexican Sunrise Recipes

MEZCAL SUNRISE

Steps:

• Combine 1 cup mezcal and 3 cups orange juice in a pitcher; pour into 4 tall ice-filled glasses. Add a dash of grenadine to each glass and garnish with orange slices and maraschino cherries.

TEQUILA SUNRISE

Steps:

• Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice. Fill a chilled 12 ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient). Garnish with a slice of orange, and a maraschino cherry.

MEXICAN SUNRISE

Steps:

• On a flat plate, mix 1/4 cup of the sugar with cinnamon.
• Stack tortillas, and with a small knife, notch edges to make sunburst rim; reserve scraps for other uses. Cut tortillas in half, rub sides lightly with water, and coat, 1 piece at a time, with cinnamon sugar. Arrange pieces in a single layer on 2 baking sheets (12 by 15 in.).
• Bake in a 400° oven until tortillas are lightly browned and crisp, about 10 minutes; switch pans halfway through baking.
• Meanwhile, peel and pit mango. Seed and peel melon. Cut mango and melon into 1/2- to 3/4-inch cubes, or cube half of each and thinly slice remainder. Mix fruit with lemon juice.
• Arrange fruit equally on salad or dessert plates.
• In a 6- to 8-inch frying pan over high heat, melt remaining 1/4 cup sugar, shaking and tilting pan to mix dry sugar into syrup until liquid is amber color; remove from heat. At once, put frozen yogurt beside fruit, lean tortillas against frozen yogurt, and quickly drizzle desserts with melted sugar.

CORONA® SUNRISE

Steps:

• Open the Corona® bottle and drink to where beer is level with the top of the label.
• Pour in tequila, orange juice, grenadine, and lime juice. Place thumb over top of bottle, turn upside-down and back up to combine.

CARIBBEAN SUNRISE

Steps:

• Combine the lemon juice, orange juice and sugar in a shaker and muddle briefly until the sugar is dissolved.
• Add the rum, and several drops of grenadine (at least 5!), and some cracked ice.
• Cover and shake for about 10 seconds, or when the shaker is quite cold.
• Strain into a chilled, 5 ounce whisky sour glass.

MEXICAN SUNRISE

Steps:

• Blend until slushy and strain(you don't have to strain).
• Serve in tall glass with ice.
• Garnish with strawberries.

MEXICAN SUNSET BREAD

Steps:

• In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. , Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
