HONEY MUSTARD PALE ALE SAUCE



Honey Mustard Pale Ale Sauce image

This Honey Mustard Pale Ale Sauce becomes a great addition to grilled vegetables, fried chicken, used as a dressing for mixed greens or as a base for a Yukon Gold Potato Salad.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/3 cup beer mustard, (such as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Mustard)
1/4 cup Pale Ale or IPA (Such as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA)
2 tablespoon honey (local variety from the farmers market)
1 tablespoon oil, olive, extra virgin, (something with a grassy aroma )
1 teaspoon salt, kosher
1/2 teaspoon peppercorns, black, cracked

Steps:

  • In a medium-size bowl, add the mustard, Pale Ale, honey, oil, salt and pepper. Whisk the ingredients together until combined. Pour the mixture into a Mason jar and seal with a lid. The sauce will keep up to three to four weeks refrigerated.

1 (375 ml) bottle pale ale
1 cup cream (thickened)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic
1 tablespoon golden syrup
5 saffron threads
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 pinch nutmeg
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • bring a saucepan up to temperature (HOT).
  • place olive oil in pan with garlic and fry quickly.
  • put saffron threads in and fry for 25 more seconds.
  • pour in pale ale.
  • season with salt, pepper, nutmeg.
  • reduce by half.
  • pour in cream.
  • add golden syrup and parsley.
  • stir
  • reduce till desired thickness.
  • if you reduce to far and sauce splits add more cream.
  • makes enough for one service!
