1 egg
2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks (6 oz)
1 bag (10.5 oz) orange slice gumdrop candies (21 candies), cut into thirds

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat sugars, butter, shortening, orange peel, orange juice, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until creamy. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chunks and orange candies.
  • Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls about 3 inches apart onto ungreased large cookie sheet.
  • Bake 12 to 16 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 3 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup unsalted butter
½ cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt into and set aside. Cream butter, sugars, orange zest and vanilla extract together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time beating well after adding each one. Add dry ingredients and stir until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts and mix until well blended.
  • Drop dough by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Flatten slightly. Bake cookies for 15 or 16 minutes or until golden. Cool on the cookie sheets.

A delicious take on the classic chocolate chip cookie! They taste like those chocolate oranges you buy during the holidays but in chewy cookie form.

2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp table salt
1 cup unsalted butter (, softened)
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp orange zest
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp orange extract
4 oz bittersweet chocolate (, chopped into chunks*)
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate (, chopped into chunks)
4 oz milk chocolate (, chopped into chunks)
Flaky or coarse sea salt

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt for 30 seconds, set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment mix butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and orange zest until creamy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add in one egg and mix until combined, then add in second egg, vanilla extract and orange extract and mix until combined.
  • With mixer set on low speed, slowly add in flour mixture and mix just until combined. Stir in chocolate chunks.
  • Shape dough into large balls, about 3 Tbsp each (58 grams each). Transfer balls to plates, cover with plastic wrap and chill 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees during last 10 minutes of chilling.
  • Transfer chilled cookie dough balls to Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheets and sprinkle tops lightly with sea salt (keep any that aren't currently baking in refrigerator).
  • Bake in preheated oven about 11 - 12 minutes. Allow to cool on baking sheet several minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container.

3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh, grated orange rind
1 cup margarine, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon orange extract
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
3 ounces premium quality dark chocolate, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt and grated orange rind.
  • Mix well and set aside.
  • In a large bowl blend sugars with electric mixer at medium speed.
  • Add melted margarine and beat well to combine.
  • Add eggs, orange extract and orange juice, and beat well.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F Combine flour, baking soda and 1/8 teaspoon salt in medium bowl; whisk to blend. Using electric mixer, beat brown sugar, unsalted butter, grated orange peel and vanilla extract in large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture and mix just until combined.   • Pre-heat the oven to 170°C/gas mark 3 and line a large baking sheet. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave in 30 second blasts or over a pan of barely simmering water until melted. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  • Place the flour, cocoa, bi carb and salt into a bowl and set aside. Cream the butter and sugars together in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add the cooled melted chocolate and beat to combine.
  • Beat in the orange zest and egg, followed by the flour mixture. Once combined stir in the chocolate chunks.
