I'm sure I'm not the first genius to devise this concoction, but please let me believe I am. I used, with some modifications, recipe #76416 chocolate chip cookie base, which is a great cookie btw. I thought these were darn good (even though I dislike using pre-packaged foods to bake with!)

2/3 cup shortening
11 tablespoons butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon real vanilla extract
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt (not kosher)
0.5 (14 ounce) package Oreo cookies (more or less to suit your taste)

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350.
Cut oreos in four to six pieces with a sharp knife; set aside. Don't bash them, it doesn't work as well. You want somewhat sizable chunks. Try not to sample chunks.
Blend flour, salt and baking soda together in a bowl.
In another bowl, cream together butter, shortening and sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Blend in flour mixture in thirds; do not overmix.
Fold in (by hand) chopped Oreos and the Oreo "dust" left from chopping them up.
Drop by rounded tablespoons and bake 8 minutes. Do NOT overbake these!

These cookies are a family favorite. The great combo of chewy chocolate chip cookies and double stuff OREO's.

Ingredients

1 cup butter ((softened to room temperature))
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
½ Tablespoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3½ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups milk chocolate chips
24 double stuff Oreo cookies

Steps:

Mix the softened butter, brown sugar and sugar until combined well. Then beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Add in the salt, baking soda, and flour and mix until combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill dough for about 30 minutes.
Roll into 1 inch balls. Slightly flatten the dough ball and place the oreo on top of it. Then flatten another dough ball and place on top of the oreo. Mold the cookie dough around all sides of the cookie sealing the edges closed.
Place on a cookie sheet covered with a silpat baking sheet or parchment paper.
Bake cookies at 350 degrees F for about 13 minutes or until golden brown.

This is the recipe that works for me in order to make my delicious and famous cookies that also have another cookie inside! Special feature: cinnamon adds a mysterious yet delicious change to that average chocolate chip cookie flavor.

Ingredients

1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup chocolate chips
½ (14 ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil.
Beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed for at least 3 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon; beat on low speed until incorporated and fluffy, about 1 minute.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl again. Mix in 1 cup of flour and baking powder until incorporated. Fold in 1 cup of flour. Fold in remaining 1 cup flour with chocolate chips until nicely incorporated.
To form cookies, press 1 tablespoon batter between your hands and flatten slightly. Put an Oreo® on top and add another tablespoon dough on top of the Oreo®. Shape dough softly around the cookie to sandwich it. Place on a prepared baking sheet. Repeat to form remaining cookies, spacing them 1 inch apart on the sheets.
Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 15 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets briefly before removing to a wire rack to cool completely, 20 to 30 minutes.
