Oreo Pudding image

A very easy dessert. Kids and adults go ape over this one! Make sure you make the day before you serve, to soften the Oreo cookies. Prep time includes chill time.

8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
3 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces Cool Whip
1 (1 lb) package Oreo cookies, crushed into chunks
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
2 packages instant vanilla pudding (small size)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the cream cheese, butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
  • Add the milk, vanilla and pudding mixes.
  • Mix until all the lumps are gone.
  • Fold in the Cool Whip.
  • Put half of the cookies in the bottom of a large glass bowl.
  • Cover with the entire pudding mixture.
  • Top with remaining cookie chunks.
  • Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

This is a quick, lower calorie version of Dirt Pudding.

I use 2 boxes of the pudding mix, as this allows for leftovers for work the next day. I am also guesstimating on the nutritional information on the Oreos, as I scrape the cream out.

Steps:

  • I get everything ready first.
  • I pour 4 cups of milk in a large bowl. Set aside. I take 9 Oreo cookies, scrape out the cream, and then break them up into pieces. Then I add the pudding mix into the milk, while wire whisking it. I whisk the mix until it starts to thicken up (usually 1-2 minutes). I then dump in the Oreo pieces and stir until it is thoroughly mixed. Finally I pour into 8 serving dishes, approximately 1 cup each.
