1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup chopped pepperoni (about 64 slices)
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce, warmed, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 16x10-in. rectangle. Sprinkle with cheeses and pepperoni. , Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. Cut into 2-in. slices. Place cut side down in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan; lightly press down to flatten. , Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with spaghetti sauce if desired.

Make the ideal supper treat for under 5s, with ready-made pasta sauce, a little ham, grated cheese and shop-bought puff pastry

375g pack ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed if frozen
6 tbsp ready-made pasta sauce (not too chunky)
100g wafer thin ham
100g mature cheddar, grated
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp dried oregano or mixed herbs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Unroll the pastry onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to 40 x 32cm. Spread a layer of pasta sauce over it, leaving a 1cm border around the edges. Arrange the ham evenly on top, then scatter the grated cheese over.
  • Starting at one of the short ends, roll the pastry up as tightly as possible. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes or so.
  • Take a very sharp knife and cut the roll into 12 equal slices, laying them flat on 2 non-stick baking trays as you go. Brush each pinwheel lightly with beaten egg and sprinkle over the herbs. Bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden. Leave to stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Easy pizza puff pinwheels with tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan and oregano.

1 puff pastry sheet
100 ml pizza sauce (or tomato sauce of choice)
125 g mozzarella (shredded)
1 tbsp parmesan (grated)
1/3 tsp oregano (dried)

Steps:

  • Unroll the puff pastry sheet and spread a thin layer of tomato sauce all over it. Spread the shredded mozzarella on top of the tomato sauce. Gently flatten the cheese before rolling up.
  • Roll up the puff pastry, helping you with its parchment paper. Place in the fridge to set for 15 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • Take out the chilled roll and gently remove the paper. Cut it up into 1 cm slices (about a half inch) and carefully place each pinwheel on a baking tray lined with paper, leaving some space in between each piece. Sprinkle some parmesan and oregano over each pinwheel.
  • Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and the cheese has browned nicely. Take out from the oven and sprinkle some more parmesan and oregano on the warm pinwheels.

1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
24 slices pepperoni
1 (14 ounce) can pizza sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • On a large baking sheet, pinch the 8 crescent roll dough triangles into 4 rectangles. Layer each rectangle with 6 slices of pepperoni and even amounts of mozzarella cheese. Roll tightly lengthwise and slice each into 4 or more pieces.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Serve with pizza sauce for dipping.

8 slices bacon
6 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
6 scallions, green part only, thinly sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 sheets frozen puff pastry (from a 17.3-ounce package), thawed
All-purpose flour, for dusting
4 ounces Cheddar, grated
1 large egg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, 5 to 8 minutes. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and allow to cool slightly, then finely chop. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the cream cheese and scallions. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Unfold the pastry sheets on a lightly floured work surface. Lightly roll each piece of pastry into a 10-inch square. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of each piece of pastry, leaving a slight border around the edges. Sprinkle the Cheddar and bacon in an even layer over the top of the cream cheese mixture. Tightly roll each pastry sheet into a log (jelly roll style), then pinch the seam closed and place seam-side down on the work surface.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut both logs crosswise into 12 pinwheels each, approximately 1 inch thick. Transfer 12 pinwheels to each prepared baking sheet, spiral-side up. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and 1 tablespoon water until combined to make an egg wash. Brush the tops and sides of the pinwheels with the egg wash.
  • Bake the pinwheels until puffed and golden, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.

1/2 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Pizza sauce, warmed or additional ranch salad dressing, optional

Steps:

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll pizza dough into a 12-in. x 10-in. rectangle. Spread ranch dressing evenly to within 1/4 in. of edges. Sprinkle with cheese, pepperoni and onions. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. , Cut into 1-in. slices. Place cut side down on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Use a packet bread mix to roll up individual pizza buns filled with tomato, basil, mozzarella and pepperoni

olive oil , for the tin
500g pack bread mix
flour , for dusting
50g mature cheddar , grated
4 tbsp tomato purée
handful basil , roughly torn
1 whole roasted pepper , from a jar, cut into strips
70g pack pepperoni , chopped
125g ball mozzarella , torn into chunks

Steps:

  • Oil a 25cm springform tin. Make up the bread mix following pack instructions.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to an oblong 35 x 22cm using a rolling pin. Spread the tomato purée over the dough (leaving a border of dough plain all the way round), then scatter with the basil, pepper, pepperoni and mozzarella.
  • Carefully and firmly roll up from the longest side to make a Swiss roll, then slice evenly into 8 thick pinwheels. Arrange 7 around the edge of the tin and put the eighth in the centre. Cover the tin with cling film and leave in a warm place until well risen. Depending on the heat in the room, this can take up to 1 hr.
  • Heat oven to 240C/220C fan/gas 7. Remove the cling film, scatter with the cheddar and bake for 12-15 mins until golden.
