4th of July Popcorn is a simple, yet delicious patriotic treat that's packed with salty and sweet deliciousness! This Patriotic Popcorn recipe is quick, easy, and perfect for all holidays red, white, and blue!

10 cups popcorn (plain), popped
3 tbsp butter, salted
3 cups mini marshmallows
3 tbsps Patriotic Sprinkles
¼ cup Wilton candy melts, Red
¼ cup Wilton candy melts, Bright White
¼ cup Wilton candy melts, Royal Blue
salt

Steps:

  • Line a cookie sheet with a Silpat Mat, foil, or parchment paper.
  • Prepare the popcorn, then add it to a large bowl and salt liberally.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter, then add in the mini marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are completely melted and creamy.
  • Slowly pour about ¾ of the melted marshmallows over the popcorn, gently folding the popcorn with a spatula or spoon until most of the popcorn are covered. Hold on to the remaining marshmallow until the next step!
  • Spread the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Drizzle the remaining marshmallow over the popcorn mixture, and immediately add about ½ of the patriotic sprinkles.
  • Melt the red candy melts using either a candy melting pot, double boiler, or in the microwave. Using a spoon, drizzle on top of the popcorn. Immediately sprinkle a little bit of the remaining patriotic sprinkles on top of the melted blue chocolate.
  • Repeat with the Royal Blue Candy Melts and the Bright White candy melts, making sure to add a small amount of sprinkles after each color chocolate.
  • Allow the candy popcorn to set before breaking it up in pieces. Serve and enjoy!

20 caramels
1/4 cup butter, cubed
10 cups popped popcorn
1-1/2 cups salted peanuts
1 cup red, white and blue milk chocolate M&M's

Steps:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the marshmallows, caramels and butter. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 3 minutes or until melted, stirring occasionally. Place the popcorn in a large bowl; pour caramel mixture over popcorn and mix well., Stir in peanuts and M&M's. Press into a well-greased 10-in. tube pan. Cool until firm. Remove from pan; cut with a serrated knife.

3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3-ounce package blue raspberry Jell-O
Blue food coloring (several drops - enough to make the right blue hue)
8 cups popped popcorn
8 cups popped popcorn
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3-ounce package r raspberry Jell-O (or other blue flavor)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300F. Grease 2 cookie sheets with butter or cooking spray.
  • To make red popcorn: Place 8 cups popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Place butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and red Jell-O in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until simmering. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour Jell-O mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Spread onto one of the cookie sheet.
  • To make blue popcorn: Place 8 cups popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Place butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, blue Jell-O, and blue food coloring in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until simmering. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour Jell-O mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Spread onto the other cookie sheet.
  • Bake the red and blue popcorn for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool before breaking into pieces.
  • Once cool, place the red and blue popcorn into a large serving bowl. Toss in 8 cups of plain white popcorn and serve.

3 tablespoons butter, (divided)
1/4 cup red candy melts
1/4 cup white candy melts
1/4 cup blue candy melts
red and blue food coloring, (optional)
12 cups kettle corn

Steps:

  • Divide the marshmallows among three large mixing bowls (3 ounces in each).
  • Place 1 tablespoon of butter into each bowl.
  • Add red candy melts to one bowl, white to another, and blue to the other.
  • Heat one bowl at a time in the microwave for 45-60 seconds until the marshmallows puff up and begin to melt.
  • Remove and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Repeat for the two remaining bowls of marshmallows.
  • Stir in red or blue food coloring, if desired, to make the red marshmallows and the blue marshmallows more vibrantly colored.
  • Stir 4 cups of popcorn into each of the bowls until the popcorn is evenly coated.

8 cups popped corn, make sure to remove the unpopped kernels.
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
10 to 15 drops of food coloring or about 1/8 teaspoon of gel food coloring.

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Line a 12 x 17-inch, or another large-sided, pan with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 300 F.
  • Melt the butter with sugar in a medium pot over low heat.
  • Once melted, add the water and vanilla extract together and stir. Bring mixture to boil over medium heat. Stir continually.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer, untouched, until the temperature reaches 238 F with a candy thermometer .
  • Then add the food coloring of your choice.
  • Quickly add it to the popped popcorn in the bowl and stir into popcorn. Coat as much popcorn as possible.​
  • Spread the colored popcorn mixture onto the pan. Then, bake in 300 F oven for 10 minutes.

FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL COLOR OF JELLO...
8 cups of popped popcorn
1/2 stick of butter
3 T of corn syrup
1/2 cup of light brown sugar
1 small package of jello - this time we will use, 1 blue and 1 red - for patriotic purposes

Steps:

  • REPEAT THIS PROCESS for each color
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • In a saucepan, over medium heat...melt the butter, add corn syrup, and brown sugar. Mix together
  • Add the jello and stir in. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat down to a simmer for 5 minutes. Stirring occasionally
  • Spread the popcorn out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper - or - a greased baking sheet
  • Pour the one of you packages of jello mixture over the popcorn and spread around to coat the popcorn that didn't get some yummy jello mixture
  • Pop this into the oven for about 10-15 minutes
  • Let cool
