BREAKFAST EGG SAUSAGE BACON CHEDDAR CASSEROLE

Number Of Ingredients 11

6 large eggs
1 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoon green onions, chopped (white and green parts)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature
7 thick slices of Challah or Texas toast (or 10-11 regular sized slices of bread), chopped in 1" cubes
1 lb loose maple breakfast sausage, cooked and drained (or regular breakfast sausage)
1 lb bacon, crispy and chopped in 1" pieces
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Add the half and half, salt, pepper and ground mustard and whisk well.
  • Spread the butter over the bottom and sides of a 13 x 9 inch non-metal baking dish.
  • Spread half of the bread on the bottom of the pan.
  • Top with half of the sausage, bacon, cheese and green onions.
  • Repeat with the remaining bread, sausage, bacon and green onions.
  • Pour the egg mixture over top.
  • Gently press the bread down into the egg mixture.
  • Top with green onions and cheese.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, overnight is best.
  • Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F with the rack in the middle
  • Uncover the dish and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set in the center. *Test with a wooden skewer. It should come out almost clean.
  • Let stand 5-10 minutes before cutting into serving pieces.
  • Serve with warm maple syrup.

  • DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter 9x13-inch baking pan. In large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned, crumbling it with a spatula as it cooks. Add hash browns, sausage, bacon and cheese to casserole dish. Toss to combine. In large bowl combine eggs, milk, garlic, salt and pepper. Whisk until completely combined.   • Heat oven to 375 degrees.

1 Tablespoon Butter, unsalted
8 Ounces (1/2 Lb) Bacon
16 Ounces (1 Lb) Sausage
1/2 Large Onion (diced)
1 Bell Pepper (seeds removed and diced)
2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
2 Cups Shredded Cheese
12 Large Eggs
1/3 Cup Whole Milk
Green Onion
Salt and Pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 F. Prep the casserole dish. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and use a silicon brush to coat the inside of the casserole dish. Set aside.
  • Bake the bacon: While the oven is preheating, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place 8 ounces of bacon strips side by side on the pan. Place the baking sheet in the oven on the middle rack. Bake around 15 minutes. Check the bacon often to make sure it does not overcook.
  • Cook the filling: Cook the sausage in a stove top pan. Place the cooked sausage in the casserole dish. Remove any excess sausage grease from the pan and then sauté the diced onion, peppers and garlic in the remaining grease. When perfectly sautéd with light browning, place in the casserole dish.
  • Remove the bacon from the oven and allow to cool before handling.
  • Assemble the casserole: Top the sausage and veggies with cheese. After the bacon has cooled, crumble into the casserole dish and mix all the ingredients together until well distributed.
  • Whisk the eggs and milk together. Pour the egg mixture over the meat and veggies and lightly mix with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  • Add a bit of salt and pepper and green onion slices on top.
  • Place the casserole dish in the oven, on the middle rack, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Once baking is complete, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

6 oz. (3/4 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese
5 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar & Monterey Jack Cheeses
2 Tbsp. finely chopped onions
1 Tbsp. maple-flavored or pancake syrup

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Place 4 bacon slices, with long sides together, on foil-covered pizza pan sprayed with cooking spray. Weave remaining bacon slices, 1 at a time, horizontally though bacon slices on pizza pan to form lattice pattern.
  • Bake 20 min. or until crisp and golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, cook potatoes in hot oil in skillet as directed on package. Spoon into 9-inch pie plate. Use bottom of dry measuring cup to press potato mixture onto bottom and up side of pie plate. Sprinkle with pepper.
