Provided by RAGÚ®

Categories     Trusted Brands: Recipes and Tips     Ragu®

Time 40m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound any shape pasta (such as penne, farfalle, elbows)
1 pound Italian sausage
1 green bell pepper, diced
½ sweet onion, diced
4 ounces sliced pepperoni, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 ounces sliced black olives
2 ounces cream cheese
1 (24 ounce) jar RAGÚ® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions.
  • While pasta is cooking, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until just lightly pink. Add green bell pepper and onion to the sausage. Continue cooking until the meat is cooked through. Add the pepperoni, olives, cream cheese, and sauce. Cook over low heat until heated through and cheese has melted.
  • When pasta is done, drain and return to the pot. Stir the sausage mixture into the pasta; stir to coat the pasta.
  • Add half of the pasta mixture to prepared baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese. Spread the remaining pasta over the cheese and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning and place a few pepperoni slices on top, if you like.
  • Bake until the cheese has melted and the pasta is heated through, about 15 minutes.

ITALIAN SAUSAGE PIZZA CASSEROLE

Italian Sausage Pizza Casserole image

This "upside down" pizza casserole is easy to make in a hurry. You can use any ingredients you like on pizza, for example add some black olives or pepperoni to the basic recipe or take out the mushrooms. Store bought spaghetti sauce works fine; your homemade will be even better! Add a salad and you have dinner.

Provided by mrsoul51

Categories     European

Time 50m

Yield 1 8x8 casserole, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb bulk Italian sausage (mild or hot)
1 cup chopped onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 cups spaghetti sauce
3/4 cup flour, divided
1 cup mixed shredded Italian cheese
1 egg
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Brown sausage, onions, garlic, green pepper, and mushrooms in a skillet over medium high heat for 6-8 minutes until sausage is cooked, stirring frequently. Drain and return sausage mixture to warm skillet.
  • Stir 3 tablespoons flour into the sausage and vegetables and then add spaghetti sauce, mixing well. Bring to a boil stirring often. Pour into lightly greased 6x10 or 8x8 baking dish and top with shredded Italian cheese. A blend of Italian cheeses works well but use whatever you like or have on hand.
  • Beat egg and stir in milk, oil, salt until well blended. Stir in the remaining flour and parmesan cheese and mix well. It should be pourable and not a dough like biscuits so adjust with a bit more flour or milk as needed. Pour over sausage/cheese in casserole covering the entire top evenly. Sprinkle a little more shredded parmesan cheese on top if desired.
  • Bake, uncovered, 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into squares for serving.

PIZZA NOODLE BAKE

Pizza Noodle Bake image

Ever wonder what to do with the leftover meat toppings you didn't put on your pizza? Well, I had some italian sausage and pepperoni left over and this is a recipe that I came up with that I wanted to share with you all. My italian sausage was already cooked but if you wanted to use raw, you could omit the butter and oil and cook the onion, mushroom and garlic with the sausage.

Provided by gertc96

Categories     Pork

Time 55m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 cups egg noodles, uncooked
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 lb ground Italian sausage
1/4 cup mushroom, chopped
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
5 -10 slices pepperoni (depending on the size you use)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Bring water to a boil in a 3 quart sauce pan. Boil noodles and set aside.
  • These steps are if you are using pre-cooked sausage:.
  • Heat butter and oil in a skillet; the oil keeps the butter from burning.
  • Add your mushrooms, onions and garlic and saute until almost done.
  • Add your precooked sausage and cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes or until sausage is heated through.
  • (If you aren't using pre-cooked sausage, cook the sausage, mushrooms, onion and garlic together and omit the butter and oil.).
  • In a 2 quart casserole dish, add 2 Tablespoons spaghetti sauce to the bottom.
  • Layer 1/2 of the cooked noodles, sausage mixture, 1/2 of the remaining sauce and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
  • Layer the remaining noodles, remaining sauce, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • Top the dish off with pepperoni slices.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until cheese is melted and dish is heated through.
