4 MINUTE SPICY GARLIC SHRIMP

Steps:
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan, garlic, red pepper flakes and shrimp. Season with grill seasoning or salt and pepper and cook shrimp 3 minutes or until just pink. Toss with lemon zest, juice and chopped parsley. Remove shrimp to a serving platter leaving the garlic cloves in the pan.

Steps:
- Set an expandable steaming basket (use one with legs) in a pot and add water just until it touches the bottom of the basket. Cover the kettle and bring water to a rolling boil. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with the spices. Steam the shrimp, covered tightly, for 5 minutes or until firm and just cooked through.
- Serve the shrimp with lemon wedges and a dish of the spices for dipping if desired.
- Note: If you can't find a prepared spice mix you can make your own. Blend together: 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 tablespoon paprika 1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper 1 finely ground bay leaf 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander seed
SPICED SHRIMP

Steps:
- Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry.
- Heat two tablespoons of the oil in a large skillet. Add the garlic, saute just until the garlic turns golden, then skim out the garlic and reserve it. Add the cumin and pepper flakes to the pan and saute until the spices sizzle.
- Add the rest of the oil to the pan, heat it, then add the shrimp. Cook the shrimp, stirring them, about two minutes, until they just turn pink.
- Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish, draining them well. Season the shrimp to taste with salt and sprinkle with the lime juice. Scatter the reserved garlic slices over the shrimp, place a toothpick in each shrimp and serve.

EASY SPICY SHRIMP
This shrimp recipe is wonderful -- and that is saying something coming from me because I am not a big fan of spicy. It is NOT that spicy, in fact DH did not even come close to breaking a sweat which is how he gauges how spicy something is. You can always cut down on the amount of red pepper flakes if you want.

Steps:
- Mix together the water, ketchup, soy sauce, cornstarch, honey, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger in a small bowl and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and stir in the green onions and garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
- Stir in the shrimp and stir them around to coat with the oil.
- Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through ~ just a few minutes.
- Stir in the sauce and stir until sauce is thickened and bubbly.
- Serve over rice.

Stir in shrimp; cook 5-7 minutes longer or until shrimp turn pink. Serve with rice.
