This is an easy variation of a favorite. I used to prepare it the traditional way, with sour cream, but I didn't have any one night, so I used cream cheese instead. My husband and I liked it even better! Serve over hot, cooked egg noodles or rice.

1 pound cubed beef stew meat
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
½ cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup water
4 ounces cream cheese

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker, combine the meat, soup, onion, Worcestershire sauce and water.
  • Cook on Low setting for 8 hours, or on High setting for about 5 hours. Stir in cream cheese just before serving.

A super-easy stroganoff with little-to-no fuss. It smells wonderful and is tasty like no other stroganoff you've had before thanks to the addition of cream cheese along with the sour cream. Of course, serve over hot, buttered flat noodles. Try it, and your taste buds will thank you!

1 ½ pounds cubed beef stew meat
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 onion, chopped
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon dried chives
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cube beef bouillon
½ cup red wine
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
4 ounces cream cheese
½ cup chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Spread beef stew meat into bottom of slow cooker crock; season with salt and pepper. Layer onion over the beef. Pour mushroom soup and water over the beef; add chives, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and beef bouillon.
  • Whisk red wine, cornstarch, and flour together in a small bowl; pour over the mixture in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours. Stir sour cream, mushrooms, cream cheese, and parsley into the beef mixture; continue cooking for 1 hour more.

1 8oz pkg muschrooms sliced
1/2 C chopped onion
1 C water
1 C Sour cream

Steps:

  • place 2 lbs of beef 1/2 c onion and 8oz sliced muschrooms in crockpot
  • MIx McCormick Seasoning paket with water until blended pour over beef and Vegtables
  • cook 8 hours on low
  • last 10 min add in sour cream and cook
  • serve over egg noodles if desired

2 tsps garlic powder
2 tsps onion powder
1 tsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp black pepper coarse ground

1 1/2 pounds boneless beef sirloin trimmed and cut into thin strips
1 cup water
1 container (8 oz) sour cream

Steps:

  • Mix flour, salt, spices and herbs in small bowl. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add beef; cook and stir 3 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Stir flour mixture and water into skillet until well blended and smooth. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer 5 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream. Serve over hot cooked noodles, if desired.
  • Test Kitchen Tip: For Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff, add 1 package (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms when cooking the beef.

1 kg cubed beef
2 onions, thickly sliced

1 x 400 g can diced tomato
200 g button mushrooms
½ cup (125 mL) light sour cream
Fresh parsley
Suggested sides: pasta or rice

  • Heat vegetable oil in frying pan over MED-HIGH heat. Brown beef and onion then add into slow cooker insert pot.

2 pounds beef top sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup water
1 envelope (1-1/2 ounces) beef Stroganoff seasoning for the slow cooker
1 pound sliced baby portobello mushrooms
1 small onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup port wine or beef broth
2 teaspoons ground mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1-1/2 cups sour cream
Hot cooked egg noodles
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, brown meat in oil. Add water and seasoning mix, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Transfer meat and drippings to a 3-qt. slow cooker., In the same skillet, saute mushrooms and onion in butter until tender. Combine the wine, mustard and sugar; stir into the mushroom mixture.
