Beef or Quorn Keema Curry image

A delicious curry which can be easily made in the slow cooker.

300g 5% fat beef mince or 300g Quorn mince 1 large onion, chopped 80g Frozen garden peas 5 cloves of garlic, crushed 1 inch of ginger, finely grated 100ml beef or vegetable stock
5 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp mild chilli powder
5 tsp Ground Coriander 1 tsp ground turmeric
5 tsp garam masala
5 tsp ground cumin

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

  • Heat a heavy based pan over a high heat and spritz with low calorie cooking spray. Add the mince and stir fry for 3-4 minutes, or until browned.
  • Reduce the heat to medium. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until softened.
  • Add the coriander stalks and curry powder, and continue to cook whilst stirring for a further 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the frozen peas, tinned tomatoes, stock, and chilli flakes if you're using them. Bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes, uncovered, until the sauce has reduced and is at your desired consistency.
