My best friend Jenn made this recipe for football party we were having at our house, and it was the hit of the night! You can make it as mild or spicy as you like. I have so many people asking me for this recipe, so I thought I'd share it on here. If you cannot find Italian sausage meat, you can buy the Italian sausage in the casing and squeeze it out. Enjoy with tortilla chips.

Ingredients

1 pound bulk hot Italian pork sausage
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) jar salsa
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
Spread cream cheese in an even layer into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking dish. Layer salsa, sausage, and mozzarella over the cream cheese, respectively.
Bake in preheated oven until the mozzarella cheese is melted completely, about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
2 cups mexican style preshredded package cheese
1/4 cup monterey jack cheese (optional but highly recommended)
chopped green chili (1 4-6 oz can)
1 cup sour cream
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup diced red pepper

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350.
Beat cream cheese in large mixing bowl until soft.
Add mexican shredded cheese, chilies, sour cream, cayenne, and red peppers to bowl. Mix until well blended and creamy.
Spook cheese mixture into 10-inch pie plate or baking dish.
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until mixture is lightly browned around edges of baking dish.
Sprinkle with monterey jack cheese and more diced red pepper if desired.
Serve hot-warm with tortilla chips.

To save time toast the nuts in advance, if you are serving a crowd prepare two recipes and serve in two separate dishes. Prep time includes toasting nuts.

1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 teaspoons butter, melted
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic (optional)
2 tablespoons taco seasoning (or to taste)
2 -3 green onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup picante sauce
crackers or corn chips

Steps:

Grease an 8 x 8-inch baking dish.
Set oven to 275 degrees.
Place the nuts on a small baking pan; bake for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally or until the nuts are lightly toasted, transfer to a small bowl and add in melted butter and salt; mix to combine.
In a medium bowl mix together softened cream cheese, garlic, taco seasoning, green onions, shredded cheddar cheese and picante sauce; mix to thoroughly combine, then stir in the pecans.
Spoon into preapred baking dish.
Increase oven temperature to 375 degrees and bake covered with foil for 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated through.
Serve with crackers or corn chips.
