Spicy Mayo Poke image

My kids and I eat Poke out several times a week... It got expensive so I came up with my own delicious recipe. I hope you like it!

Number Of Ingredients 12

4-6 oz Ahi Tuna (sushi grade)
1 t Sesame Oil
1 T Sriracha Hot chili sauce
1 T Sweet chili sauce-Trader Joes
2 T Mayonaise (Kewpie) - Japanese
1 T Tobiko
.5 T Sesame Seeds
.5 T Black Sesame Seeds
Raw yellow onion (sliced very thin)
2 T scallions (sliced very thin)
1/4 Avocado
1/2-1 cup prepared Japanese rice

Steps:

  • Cube the Ahi and set aside
  • Prepare rice. I use a rice cooker.
  • While rice is cooking, prepare the sauce. To prepare the sauce, combine mayo, sesame oil, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, and tobiko.
  • Add sauce to ahi and mix well.
  • When rice is done, add ahi mix atop a serving of rice.
  • Top with avocado, sesame seeds, onion, and green onion. I drizzle more sauce on top...mmm.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients - Add Kewpie mayo, Sriracha, sesame oil, togarashi, and mirin to a small bowl. Mix until the ingredients are incorporated.
  • Serve or store - serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 5 days.

1/4 cup coconut milk (stir the coconut milk together before measuring)
1/4 cup sriracha
1 lime, juiced

Steps:

  • Combine the mayonnaise, coconut milk, sriracha and lime juice in a bowl and stir together until smooth. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use, up to a week.

Black sesame seeds
1/4 Yellow onion (sliced very thin)
2 Green onions (sliced very thin)
1-3 Avocado (cubed)
Prepared Japanese white rice

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare rice and keep warm 2. Cube Ahi 3. Mix mayo, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, sesame oil, and tobiko. 3. To serve, add some sauce to a serving of ahi (4-6 oz of fish). Mix well. I like a lot of sauce. Lay that spicy ahi on about a cup of Japanese rice. Top with sesame seeds, onion, green onion, and avocado to taste.
